Ipod distortion on RNS510

Hi,

I've searched the forum for problems with iPods and the RNS510.

My i-Tunes music is all converted to the bit rate of 128kps so I'm a tad confused why some songs are ok and others not?!??

Reading through some of the forums, I've changed my Aux Level Input to Min as the others make it sound terrible, but I still cannot get them all to sound clear.

I've read that a pin swap may be required, but I'm a bit sceptical about doing this incase I ruin the stereo..

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Have you made sure that EQ setting on the iPod to off - I had reduced the aux level but still had distortion. Turning off EQ on the iPod removed all distortion.

I found iOS5 changed the default sound of my iPhone 3GS. There are some general grumbles about it on the Apple support forums but no fix as of yet. Have you tried putting the same songs on a memory stick and seeing if they sound different?

Hi,

I put the tracks onto a SD card and they sounded fine....

Is it an iPod touch running iOS5? If it is, I found removing all 'per track' volume adjustments in iTunes helped - if you have any set. Keep your iPod eq flat. My symptoms were slight distortion on bass heavy music after moving to iOS5. Not horrific but a noticeable change from pre iOS5. I'm wondering whether Apple fiddled with the DSP or something between software versions to make things sound 'louder'.

I'm using my old 3GS using the latest firmware.

Thanks,

I'll try some of the suggestions with regards to the volume / EQ settings to see if that helps.

I did have the problem where it skipped at the start of the track, but this was resolved when I popped into my local dealership.
