Scirocco Central

There has always been a distinctive 'whine' to my 2.0 TSI, it's audible out of gear and in, it raises in pitch with revs (and is most audible) to around 2500 RPM where it drowns out in the engine roar.

Lately I *think* it has gotten louder. I just assumed it was a characteristic of the block although I've never heard another.

Basically, is it anything to worry about?

Well my tsi makes a sound like a whirl, but i presume that the turbo, and more distinctive higher up the rev range.. But as on my other thread I have this fast loud tiking in my engine.

Which my dealer even brought out another tsi to compare and they both do it lol im sure my Engine wasnt that noticeable when i bought it.

The 'whine' is difficult to pinpoint, the best way I can describe it is similar to the whine from a supercharger, obviously not that of course but the sound is a good likeness, it's most audible when slowly pottering along at light throttle with a window open.

make a video and upload it to youtube. We will soon tell you if it sounds odd or not compared to ours.
