Rear Hatch

One of the things I dislike about my scirocco is the horrid CLANG when you shut the rear hatch!
Does everyone else have this? Can it be improved?
It seems very un- Germanic to me I was expecting a nice thud, sounds so cheap.

Mine doesn't clang, but the strker pins (or whatever you might call them) are very tight to avoid boot rattle - just a nice thud on mine.

Yup. It's struck me when I got mine I month ago. I like it. Sounds solid
