stupid engineers!!!
I wonder if people got fed up with folk saying "you've left your lights on" when parking up - had that more than a few times when I had my Leon.
Had that alot with the Edition 30 too but this is far more annoying than that ever was, will have to get it sorted.

Used to with the GTI...found it funny actually explaining to people that it's automatic and will switch off itself (which it did 2 secs later)

Am I being blonde here, my lights are set to 'auto' so when I unlock the car the front and rear lights turn on (still dark). These are the leaving home lights or???

When I park up and take the key out of the ignition all the lights turn off bar the puddle lights on the underside of the mirrors. Are these the only coming home lights or??
:?

Thanks guys/girls

^ no your coming home lights are your headlights, when you pull up at home, turn the engine off and then flash your lights, when you get out and take the keys out your headlights come on for the length of time you have set in your mfd (coming home option needs to be ticked in mfd too)

You can also make it do it without having to flash but this requires VCDS programming

Thanks for the response blue. Do I just flash them the once and it will remember to turn on every time I leave the car or do I have to do it every time before I exit the car?

You need to do it every time you pull up, hence why I have reprogrammed mine via vcds

So to sum up to get golf style coming home, I'll need to whip out VCDS and reprogram the module?

Btw anyone figured out how to get mirror dip on reverse working, my golf had mirror dip but not folding mirrors, I assume this can be sorted in VCDS also?

If the mirror can be dipped, Controller 09 - Byte 04, Bit 3 will be set at the factory and it will appear in the Settings menu under Convenience. Tick the mirror down reversing option. Assumes Highline MFD as R, Midline MFD

The other factor has been electrically Folding Mirrors option being fitted.

Yes just change the settings like I did, :-

09 Central Electrics module, using long coding helper
- Byte 12 - untick bit 2
- Byte 17 - tick bit 5

Manually activate coming home lights

Post by kane1210 »

Is it possible to activate coming home lights by pulling indicator stalk in rather than having to actuall vagcom the sOn of a bitch?!

I mean so when I exit the car I don't have to pull the stalk to activate it it does it automatically .

Coming Home Lights or not

Post by char »

Hi guys

I've run out of ideas on this, my presumption is that if I have the Coming Home Lights set to ON in the menus and the other one (sorry I cant remember what its called) then basically if its dark, I unlock the doors from the fob and the lights will come on. This works great... but I also thought that if I then drive around and park up, turn off the engine, then the lights will stay ON for 30secs, so I dont break my neck in the dark trying to find the front door. But the lights dont come on! :(

I've changing the timings from 10secs to 30secs and turned them on and off but it makes no difference. Any ideas why it only half works, or have I got the wrong idea how it should work?

Cheers

LOL OK thanks I'll try that :) Though to be fair it is stupid to have a config setting in the menu but then it doesnt work unless you touchup the roc before you exit negating the point of the dusk sensor in the car, must have been some strange logic the designer used on that one! :s

Thanks
