Mostic wrote:Good question, I would like to know too.
Haha thanks guys. I use quite a lot of different polishes and waxes, but generally using AutoGlym Super Resin polish and some Fusso99 soft wax gives the best results!

I've spent this weekend spraying my interior trims to piano black. I had primer, paint and sand paper left over from doing my turbines last year, so all I had to buy was some lacquer - a grand total of £6.99
Here they are currently, I'm waiting for them to dry/harden before fitting but I'm really happy with the finish!
Tom
Hi Tom,
Can I ask why you needed sandpaper for the trim, I've been wanting to do it myself but I want to do it properly like you've done, do you need to sand off the old finish, then apply the primer, paint and then the lacquer? What paint did you use, it turned out really well!

Thank you guys, glad you like it!! Lots more to come
Ren - 90% of the final finish is always in the prep work, if you don't prep well, don't expect a perfect finish! If you're doing them, be sure to send them down without a doubt.
Whats New?
Well today I got my tracking and camber set up properly as I'm heading over to the Netherlands for MIVW on Friday. The car was awful to drive over anything around 60mph and this was why...
Here's the tracking set up before adjustments:
£40 later it's all sorted, the car drives a million times better as you'd expect and feels a lot more responsive, no wheel judder and doesn't veer off to one side. Sorted!
So, as promised, here's what's included in the kit, plus what I paid extra for...
* 3/8" Manifold
* Display unit
* Wire Harness
* Self Purge Water Trap
* APP FOR IOS OR ANDROID
* Viair 444c Compressor
* Second Vlair 444C Compressor
* Second Loom for compressor
* 2x Compressor ISO Kits (to reduce vibration)
* 3/8" air line upgrade
* 4 Gallon 5 Port Aluminum Tank
* Front PERFORMANCE Strut Kit
* Rear SLAM Kit
Initial thoughts on the car and its ride was that the steering is much heavier - a definite noticeable difference from before, although not necessarily a negative difference.
Ride comfort can vary dependant on ride height. The higher the psi, the higher the car, the bouncier it is. Driving at a sensible lowered ride height (40psi front and 30psi back), the car is very firm and feels very planted in corners.
In summary, the car is fantastic and drives extremely well. People say it's as comfy as standard suspension (it probably isn't in all honesty unless you drive at standard height, but what's the point in that?
), but it's by no means bad when it's on a lower setting. Still a very very good set up just slightly firmer than standard suspension, although firm suspension doesn't bother me at all so no worry there.
9/10 for the kit and ride performance. Lost one mark because it is incredibly loud when airing out, although I've just found a muffler to reduce the noise... I'll be purchasing one of those!

Glad you're enjoying it! I definitely need my tracking/alignment done asap, proper pulls to the left now on air and when driving low.
Are you going to get the chassis notched? and are you still on standard rear shocks?

Thanks dude! I definitely recommend getting your tracking done, it makes the world of difference. The chassis is already notched, think I would need 18's to lay frame though - the 19's are just slightly too big. I also upgraded the rear shocks to airlift, so a full airlift set up all round.

Thanks pal! I only used halfords paint, nothing special... although it worked very well! Half of the trick to getting a good finish is in the prep work. Take your time, don't rush, and it'll come out perfect
Let us know how you get on!

Wow, awesome pic dude! Was great to meet you too, shame I didnt manage to actually catch you at the show... it was huge! Car looked fantastic, such a coincidence I bumped into you after travelling all that way too haha. Hopefully see you again some time next year as I'll be across again for a few more european shows

Thanks Chris!! That's a shame, AP's are a really really good set up - I really rate them! If you can afford it, definitely pay the extra for air though. I have no regrets, only that I wish I had done it sooner. Plenty more progress to come with the rocco over the winter, ahead of next year's show season... lots planned

Wow, thank you! The pics look great! The show was amazing, so much better than shows here in the UK. Also probably one of the biggest show's I've been to. I want to go back!
Update 09/08/2016
In summary, the trip to the Netherlands for MIVW was amazing. The car performed faultlessly yet again, we did over 20 hours of driving in just three days and covered over 900 miles. Met some really nice people and true enthusiasts too, I'll definitely be going again next year.
Here are just a few pics from the trip, I hope you like them.
Service station somewhere near Belgium border, Friday morning:
Rotterdam, multi story shopping centre car park. Couldn't resist a pic as the lighting was good

All set up at MIVW, Soldaat Van Oranje:

Thanks for your comments guys, glad you all like it!
Not much has changed over the past couple of weeks, I've really been enjoying the car as it stands. I've got a silencer on order which should be here this week to reduce the noise the system makes when I air out.
In other news, I'm not sure where it happened, but the car was keyed some time last week. The damage covers the bonnet, drivers window and above the drivers window/near the roof - I was gutted. It's too deep to polish out, so will need to be resprayed. After speaking with my local bodyshop today I've been toying with the idea of a full respray over winter, but choosing a colour is so difficult as I know it'll make or break the car!
Meanwhile, here are some pics I've been tagged in from a recent meet up in Southsea, Portsmouth at a Auto Grüppe event:
Hope you like

Thanks pal! I only used halfords paint and primer, nothing special. However it had started to bubble from the heat and hot weather we had a couple of weeks ago - I have dropped them off at my local bodyshop to be sprayed professionally and I'm hoping to pick them up this week
Small update - lots of plans!
I took a trip round the M25 yesterday - first stop was at PhilJay's house to pick up and fit a bluetooth module, then off to see quietresonance to get it vagcommed in. Took a couple of pics, a definite worthwhile upgrade I should have done sooner!
I've just ordered some LED door puddle lights which should be here soon, plus looking at a few other interior mods to do over winter. Meanwhile, the winter prep is going well - I'm trying to keep it a secret for now until its all done and fitted, some of the parts have already arrived but there will be some big changes planned for winter ready for 2017 show season - I am too excited!
Hope you like
Tom
