Image fitted the metal pedals bought through the forum, accelerator pedal wasn't too bad thanks to sellym advising to have a good look at the replacement unit to understand how the clips work, hardest part was the footrest - awkward angle to work at. Happy with the results.

For the last weeks i had a fault code showing up in VCDS: 17058/P0674/001652 - Cylinder 4 Glow Plug Circuit (Q13): Electrical Fault
I ordered a new NGK D-power 75 glow plug to replace it. First cleaned the surrounding a little bit from sand and dust with some compressed air.
You need a very small extended socket wrench to take the glow plug out. 3/8" or 1/4” wrench is best with 10mm long socket that fits over the electrical connector (see picture below)
The glow plug had a very bright white spot on it so it clearly passed away.
Erased the fault code direcly in module 01 - engine and hasn't returned yet so i think it's all good now.

Cheers sellym - it's a marked improvement - few more bits to do before the next meet but plenty of time. Image

I removed the obd2 connector under the dash and converted it into a d-sub connection.
Made an adapter from d-sub to obd2 for myself to use vcds.
Nice and cheap anti theft protection.

Well it's New Year's Eve and the year is almost over so I thought I'd get one last mod done before 2015 ends . . . nothing major, just replaced the chrome VW badges with gloss black ones.

Thats actually a really clever idea!
only problem would be for services etc as I'm sure VW wouldn't like it haha

Thanks. Well i do the most services myself. So that isn't a problem.
But sadly my vcds cable doesn't like it so im gonna change it back.
I changed it because of anti theft protection.
With the standard obd2 acces is to easy for thieves.

Edit: Vcds cable was damaged during testing. So gonna try it again this month.

So today a Scirocco R steering wheel and R20 blue needle 200mph clocks went in. Gives the whole inside a massive more modern look. Image
