if you have ETKA there is option of ATP search, it searches in which car is mounted part which you search. AM module is for Caddy 2004-2008, Golf 2004-2005 and Touran 2003-2005. CD module is suitable for Scirocco 2009-2012 and much more cars:

Trust me, in Polish VW workshop it's possible to retrofit parts for customers cars from others cars in workshop. I think they have changed my module for this poorer version.

Yes i have this, you need to take it back?, if you already know whats wrong with it then why come on here and ask ?, i think your coding is wrong

When car was 6 month old I was at dealer and I say that I can only set Volume from steering wheel. They say that they will look, they take it for 1,5h and nothing found. They say then all VW now can only set Volume :grumpy:

I can only change Volume in radio from moment when I take this car from dealer. Now I have it for 2 years, all this time they say "it's everything ok". Now I look in ETKA and on Autoscan and I have seen wrong module number. In my opinion dealer have hidden this thing with module for all 2 years.

I think now I write all history more clearly.

I still think your coding is incorrect, it's coded 3042 which suggests control of your cruise control using the steering wheel Buttons, when I assume you control it via the stalk ? !, 2042 would be a better option.

So I was today at my dealer, they take my car for 3 hours to make diagnostics. I say that car have wrong module and they say after this 3h that I was right. In november 2009 I was by dealer on guaranty check of Multifunction and then they it's ok when only changing volume is working and module don't want to accept new coding.

Today same guy say that volume and changing station should work, but this module don't accept new coding. Then they checked number of module(after I say about wrong number) and now I must wait on phone call, what director of service will say about this situation. I think they will change it on correct module without pay from me. Maybe they will say that somebody have mounted wrong module in factory.

182_blue, I knew all this codings, you show coding for AM module. I should have CD module which have completly other coding (0000532).

Code: Select all

Steering Wheel Electronics (J527) Coding
0?xxxxx: Driver-Assistance-Systems
0 = Driver-Assistance-Systems not installed
0 = Message for Driver-Assistance-Systems active w/o Button
1 = Message for Driver-Assistance-Systems inactive w/o Button
2 = Message for Driver-Assistance-Systems active with Button
3 = Message for Driver-Assistance-Systems inactive with Button
0x?xxxx: Vehicle Type
0 = Normal
1 = Special Purpose with Multi-Function Control Module (Steer. Column. Contr. Mod. as Master)
2 = Special Purpose with Multi-Function Control Module (Multi-Function Contr. Mod. as Master)
0xx?xxx: Transmission
0 = Manual Transmission / 1 = Automatic Transmission
0xxx?xx: Multi-Function Steering Wheel
0 = Multi-Function Steering Wheel not installed
5 = Multi-Function Steering Wheel w/o Tiptronic and w/o Push-To-Talk (PTT) installed
6 = Multi-Function Steering Wheel with Tiptronic and no Push-To-Talk (PTT) installed
7 = Multi-Function Steering Wheel w/o Tiptronic and with Push-To-Talk (PTT) installed
8 = Multi-Function Steering Wheel with Tiptronic and with Push-To-Talk (PTT) installed
0xxxx?x: Cruise Control System (CCS) and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
0 = Cruise Control System (CCS) not installed
1 = Cruise Control System (CCS) with 6 Positions via separate Stalk installed
2 = Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with 6 Positions installed
3 = Cruise Control System (CCS) with 4 Positions via Blinker Stallk installed
4 = Cruise Control System (CCS) via Multi-Function Steering Wheel installed
5 = Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) via Multi-Function Steering Wheel installed
0xxxxx?: Rear Wiper and Board Computer
1 = Rear Wiper not installed / Board Computer via Wiper Stalk not installed
2 = Rear Wiper installed / Board Computer via Wiper Stalk not installed
3 = Rear Wiper not installed / Board Computer via Wiper Stalk verbaut
4 = Rear Wiper installed / Board Computer via Wiper Stalk installed
It's imposible to make fail in factory because Eos, Sharan and Alhambra don't have this module which I have in my Scirocco. All 4 cars are produced in Protugal in same factory.

I have one logic answer for question about my wrong module 16. Maybe mechanic at my dealer have change accidentally or special my module on other one when they are retrofitting Cruise control before buy of Scirocco.

Dealer don't know what to say about this situation.

I have said above what i think the problem is, i think its coded wrongly, you at least need to change the coding to see if that fixes it, the coding you added above is for the newer style cars like my own with the latest Steering wheel, yours is the older versions like the mk5 Golf

Dealer have tried changing coding and nothing have helped. All Sciroccos have Highline module minimum second generation, my is first generation.

Today I was at my dealer, he have changed module on "CD" version and in RCD work volume and station change but Cruise Control don't work. So he installed ma my "AM" again. My second question is, when I don't have phone preparation should star on steering wheel mute sounds from radio?

It can, but needs programming through the steering controller.

It's Push-to-talk option? In my instruction of Rocco is written that STAR icon mute the RCD and there is no text about "if car have Telephone or other special option" so I think this option should be with any fabric radio.

Dealer say that he will try to fit "CC" module or new Cruise Contol retrofit kit and maybe it will work.

Yes push to talk option should make button work for mute or not etc

I have new info about Rocco. I found old bill from retrofitting Cruise Control. There is numer of retrofit kit 1K0 054 691 A
ETKA show my that it should be 1K0 054 690 B.

ETKA show me too that first kit is for Touran 2003-2005 and Golf 2004-2005, not for Scirocco.

EDIT:
What idiots, they don't know why they have mounted in my Scirocco Cruise control which is for Touran and Golf. On german forum I have found, that in February 2009 was electric problem with retrofit Cruise Contol in Scirocco, maybe it's reason why they use other kit in my car. But why they don't say that Steering wheel will not work.
