What bugs me more than the light switch is people with older cars who have 'converted' their fog lights to DRLs and they stay on at night, those who don't put their lights on in heavy spray and those whose auto sensor does not switch their main beams on quickly enough when it is needed. The last point is one reason for not having an auto function!

Yeah I agree, I was confused when I first got mine when I looked at the way the lights worked. I found the way you switch the fog lights on stupid too.

I was just also agreeing with Paralla and Char saying I don't really mind my lights being left on for me either for the reasons I stated, so I'm not too fussed by the way they work now I'm used to it. :)

Definately agree with that! Never liked the pull out switch concept - would much prefer two seperate buttons - one for rear lights and one for fronts - the current system of integrating it in to the rotary light control knob was devised as a mechanical way to prevent fogs being activated without headlights being on but I would have thought a simple electronic circuit could be made to do the same thing if there were seperate switches..... then again, maybe I just like switches!

I wonder how other manufacturers control foglight operation?

Yeah I preferred the system on my 13 year old 1.2 Clio haha! That was just a little turn switch on the end of my indicator stick. :P
