Cez's Facelift R 380bhp Aztec Gold

Threw some carbon in the interior last weekend, but have since changed my mind and am going to skin them in Kevlar to match the cars colour.

I'll be starting with a few smaller dash pieces that I've already done in carbon, then I'll be going for full centre console, A, B and C pillars, and trim around the bottom of seats and the plastic which runs along the door shut on the floor.

Getting quotes on a full charcoal alcantara dash and door covering with gold twin stitch and quilted door inserts. Won't be for a while until I can save up but that's the next on the cards.

Here's an image of how I anticipate my skinning to look

Yesterday I got started on my skinning.

Cutting all the Kevlar fabric to size

Image

Image

Then after the fabric has been applied and the first epoxy layer has been applied (still wet)

Image

And after that first cost had dried

Now I'm going away for the night and will be back tomorrow evening, so Saturday morning on with trimming all the parts back and making them look like the items I removed, and on with the next few epoxy layers. Then wet flat and polish to a shine.

Ended up coming out okay, but I didn't like it so replaced all interior trim. What a faf that was! Lesson learnt

Some more clean pictures though

Not posted on here in a while. I do apologise!

Interior trim went badly (as I anticipated and should have only done one item. Live and learn! )

Image

Now reppin' the carbon look

Had some more photos done as well

I've decided my wheels are going this colour very soon!

And finally, my big brakes have been ordered and are going on. 6 pot fronts with ml450 350mm J hook discs and 4 pot rears using the stock 310mm discs and current rear caliper as a parking brake. Fronts went on yesterday and rears won't be far behind

Image

Braided lines installed

Image

Image

Excuse the mess that I am

Image

Image

Image

And that's all for now folks. Will get some new pictures of brakes once I get a chance to wash the car over. So far looking good though

Managed to find a decent airlift performance set up.

Image

Ordered all my lines, fixings and tank from OCD

Image

And installed the management, tanks, wiring and compressor over the past 2 days.

Decided to keep it simple and intent on hard piping the tank in the near future. Raised floor design with part sunk tank

Image

Image

Image

Will be recovering the floor as I have only used the stock carpet for the time being.

Bags are going on tonight/tomorrow/Saturday. Then Sunday out for another shoot

Also been accepted into a few local shows. Be nice to meet a few of you if anyone is attending

Next step I think is replacing that front splitter which isn't quite right. Going to go for a kerscher carbon splitter I think. Subtle.

Wow

How you finding the brakes? I got the same but waiting for my current pads to wear down before I fit them.
Are the rears from a porsche too? would like to see how you fit them together. Also do you have to change your master Cylinder when running both bigger calipers?

The brakes are great. Yeah the rears are also from the cayenne. I'm struggling to find a fitting kit to put the rears on at the moment, so god knows when I'll get them on

Nah, I've read people using stock master cylinder so I'll see how it goes when I get them all on!

Thanks for the reply,

I think you'd need the sprigot rings to put on the hub lip. not sure if the mounting bolts for the from caliper would fit with the rear setup??
