Just wondering if anyone has used either of the following companies to retro-fit sat nav. Both seemed to know their stuff when I spoke to them but thought I'd ask for any good or bad dealings with either them.

Anyone used either of these companies to retro-fit Sat Nav?
Re: Anyone used either of these companies to retro-fit Sat N
No but Citygate VW used SatNav Systems to retro fit my cruise control.
No issues there at all. They seemed like quite a sleek professional bunch to me.

Thank Cirkz
I've booked them in for fitting on Monday, so I'll let you all know how it goes. Seemed like a pretty professional outfit. Lets hope it all goes to plan. Apparently the Unit is Official VW kit which is running at revision J.

For anyone who is or may be interested.
Retro fitting of the Genuine VW Satalite Navigation took place yesterday. The company, turned up when they said they would, in fact the fitter was stood by my car waiting for me to let him have access which surprised me as our office carpark is quite difficult to locate and 99% of people who have never been to the office ring up asking where it is!
Anyway, I digress. There is not a great deal to say to be honest. The whole installation took about 40 minutes and would have taken less if I hadn't kept the fitter talking, as it is a surprisingly simple installation. I believe the antenna for the sat nav is installed in the roof lining if it is installed by the factory, however the antenna appears to work just as well when installed in the A Pillar. This was a concern of mine but need not have worried.
After plugging in the laptop and the fitter doing his thing, all the software was updated and everything works fine and just as you would expect right out of the factory.
Sat Nav Systems did a great job. It appears that most of their work is from VW dealers so it makes me laugh (albeit I am not surprised) how my local dealers seem to think you cannot do it!
Thumbs up from me for sure so if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Personally I find that the factory fit sat nav is positioned too low to make it user friendly, I much prefer the Audi system where the sat nav 'pops up' from the top of the dashboard - it's more naturally in the drivers eye-line and does not require you to take your eyes off the road to look down. In fact I have reverted to my suction cup NAVMAN for that very reason.

Don't forget the Nav information shows up in the DIS also. I doubt it could be placed any easier to see...
