2.0 TSi Petrol 2018

Error P2556 popped up from a yellow EML light after a new water pump/temp control actuator was fitted, the code points to a faulty coolant bottle but changing it didn't solve the problem as it seems the code can relate to the temp control actuator. Also replaced both temp sensors for good measure but the code keeps coming back after clearing. Symptoms are random spikes and drops in temperature which return to normal quickly.
Have now replaced the pump and actuator and the problem still remains?

Anyone have a clue what's going on?

Could there be air locks in the coolant system?
