My Boot will not open properly

Post by nigelqpr68 »

I've already splashed out on a new lock as well as Bump Stops but when I operate the switch from inside the cockpit, by the time I reach the rear of the motor, I find that the boot has not opened fully. The only way I can open it is by getting somebody else to open it whilst I flick the switch.

You can adjust the bump stops with an allen key and pull them out (stronger) or push them in (weaker). Have you tried that?

I have the same issue as you. I just hold the boot unlock key when I'm in the back to pull it open.

Agreed… bump stops.
If memory serves me correctly the facelift has different ones, were they replaced with the correct ones?
Emerald struts do a kit that allows the tailgate to be opened from the key, they also have a YouTube video showing the installation but this also shows how the adjuster works so may be worth a look.
Hope this helps 😊
