speed limiter.

Post by neonors »

I am new on this forum. I am debating about if I should get myself a Scirocco.

One of the features I appreciate very much in my current car (Mazda 2) is the speed limiter. The function that works like a reverse cruise control, and keeps the car from driving faster than the speed I set it to.

Is this function avalable in Sciroccos? If so, what models and years can I find it in. I know some have like a beep-sound as warning, but that is not what I am looking for.

Thank you in advance.

As far as I'm aware the Scirocco is not available with this feature but does have a programmable speed warning function.

Having driven a company vehicle with a speed limiter I can't for the life of me see why anyone would want one on a scirocco.

Having to sit in the inside lane of the motorway whilst vans and lorries try to push you along and you can't do anything but just sit there is most disconcerting at best and dangerous at worst.

Well you are assuming i intend to use it on the freeway...! Don't you know that assumption is the mother of all f**kups??

I live in the center of Copenhagen - with lots of speeding-cameras to give people speeding-tickets. Now... while I prefer to keep my focus on the city traffic, and not on the speedometer, I think that my question is quite legit, and with safety in mind.

And I need to go through the city traffic to get to the freeway.

So why ask the question on a UK forum?

I as in this forum because that is the only one I could find in Europe. But apparently I am not really welcome here...

I already regret joining this forum. It already seems like people are not very friendly and helpful.

I basically just wanted the answer to the questions I asked. Not other possibilities.

Please ignore the stupid answers. CupraBob is right, this isnt an option but there is a speed warning which I use for the same reason your asking when travelling on the famous m25 and it works a treat.

I use my cruise control set to whatever the speed limit is. Works down to 20 mph. You obviously have to be in the appropriate gear.
