Hey guys, like I said where I presented myself I am looking everyday in and out for a rocco, checked alot on google on other forums and came up here aswell
I am undecided between a 2.0 tsi or a 2.0 tdi
I am now at 24000 and next month that'll be a year so 25000 or more I do 500 to 600 kms a week so guess that's alot
I am more of a petrol fan but well never rode a 2.0 so don't know how many kms per tank I could do and heard that the 1.4 have many faults in engine and such so TDI sounds like the obvious choice, thing is I am gonna live together with my girlfriend soon so that's 200kms each week I get to take off since I did 100km on and off each weekend to see each other or she when she comes to me, and offcourse roadtrips to france, germany, spain etc and soon maybe I'll be carpooling with a collegue so guess I have to take that into consideration too
I do alot of highway kms, 80% of my driving is in highway (work, home, gym etc) so really want to hear your advice over this
I would love the power of the 2.0 petrol 200cv but never rode a diesel before so dont know how strong the 2.0 tdi 140cv is I Can always tune the motor up in a known garage here that is specialised in that but first I want to hear what all you guys think before going too fast on this and deciding without thinking
I guess it's also personal preference but I do sometimes have a heavy foot and drive faster than I intend but well I like the feeling of driving fast so guess that's something to take into consideration too.

Can you get a 170?
In the real world the diesel is just as fast unless you are drag racing. The 2.0 TSI is fairly reliable as long as it's on later chain tensioner revision.
My friend can get 40mpg on his.
A remap on both engines really help.

140cv tdi consumption is about 1 litre on every 19 km / 12 Miles.
Just take a testdrive in both to make a good choice, so personal. Also take a drive in the dsg and manual transmission to compare them.
Pre's tdi vs petrol: No buildup of carbon in the intake, if you do long drives this will not be a factor i think. Better consumption. High torque on low rpm, more quit engine. No problems with timing belt tensioner.

Con's tdi vs petrol: Emission scandal, dpf that you have to replace or clean every 300k km or 190k Miles. Less hp and drive experience, compared with a 2.0 tsi. Some problems with the high pressure fuel pumps.

Thanks for the replies, been looking for a 170cv but cant find one at the moment
I got 2 tdi in sight and one tsi, i can post them so you can check the stats if you want, the tsi one though is tunes, like wheels, bumpers, etc the tdis are normal
I will try and go to a garage nearby to ask for test drives to get a feeling
What do you mean with less drive experience with the tdi?
I wanna get the petrol but I am just thinking all the times I will have to stop at a petrolstation to fill him up and that with the tdi it'll be a little less specially if I like to go like 130kmh / 80mph or more there are days that I ride less but mostly it's like that

You can disable it, valve is closed for 99% and will not give any problems after that. I ment the petrol gives you some more drive experience by sound and some more hp. But a 170 or remapped 140 is also very fun to drive.

Yeah i am thinking if i get the scirocco tdi to get it remapped for some more power but with people who know what they are doing cause readed that alot of them just put shit in them and after some riding it breaks your engine
Thats true, the sound.. i always wanted like that big sporty sound maybe in the future my next one will be a 2.0 tsi who knows. Isnt there any way to improve the sound of a diesel engine? Like that active sound thingy i think it is called some are using, that is like in the exhaust an device that makes a more sporty sound or am i wrong and if there are any other ways which ones do you think?

1st on is from germany total price 12000 with the plates to ride to Belgium so not bad i think that is the one i am gonna get already talked to them
2nd one is from belgium so just an hour drive for me, car year older and such and private the 1st one is garage tried to contact seller but no luck so far yet so.. what arw your opinions on these 2 cars?
