Best Exhaust Set-Up for Scirocco R

Post by K_S »

Hi Guys

I sure this has been discussed before but I just cannot seem to find the appropriate feedback using the search function.

What is the best exhaust setup for the R?

1. Pipe mm
2. Number of silencers
3. Position of silencers

Thanks in advance.

Best for what purpose, power, sound, value, aesthetics?

Sorry, I should've been more specific.

Main goal is power with some consideration towards sound - it shouldn't drone at cruising speeds but must be loud under WOT.

Not too phased about aesthetics - no use having smooth, clean welds on the outside of the pipe when the inside is rough, creating air turbulence.

Ideally 1 silencer behind back left wheel and another in the middle juat after the cat.

For power you'll want decat but for sound you'll want sports cat to keep it down a little (not to mention the issues with mot woth decat)

Same with non resonated and resonated, power wise non resonated is better (and sounds better too!) but you will get drone, and my experience anyone who says they dont get drone with a full non res system is lying

For styling wise I don't like any silencers on the bends towards the tips, can be better hidden elsewhere

Is it more than just an exhaust that makes it pop/babble?
