Turbo insulation cover

Post by Chrisis »

Hello guys, after installing a full exhaust system, i removed the silver cover of the turbo, i realized the engine area to be more warm, when i open the bonner a hot air come up !! But as i can see, most of the guys who install an aftermarket exhaust system they remove this cover !! Without this cover maybe the turbo "breath" better, but is not dangerous to burn the wires and plastic covers near the engine ?? Ideas ?
Im talking for this cover below

I used a turbo blanket on my Saab 2.8 V6 to great effect. It prevented the paint directly next to the turbocharger from peeling and also resulted in lower underbonnet temperatures.

you could look at some of the product from Zircotec. They have a product called ZircoFlex. This will let you cover and protect the conserned areas.
