brake changes for improved feel and linearity

Post by 3wrlcs »

I'm 2 months in to my first Scirocco ownership and one of my concerns is that the brakes are over servoed at the top of the pedal travel and the rest of the travel doesn't really give a linear progression of braking force. I don't really want a big brake kit although if this was the only way to addresses the linearity and feel then I would consider a change. The question is therefore are there some simple changes that I could pursue specifically to help desensitise initial pedal travel and give more linear progression.

Thanks, Brendan

Simplest way is to try to code brake assist with VCDS to meddle less, IMO.

i hadn't thought of an electronic change but i will look into this. There are a couple of threads about grabby brakes on the GT and how the R is better in this way so i wll see if there are any ideas from this. Any other ideas?

May be wrong but I thought brake assists was only active under heavy braking.

I think I will try new pads and discs all round. Does anyone know if I will need pr code 1kd or 1ke discs? There isn't a pr code for the rear on my service sticker, brembo have it as a 1ke and tarox as ke or kd.

Thanks, brendan

Hello, I am new to the forum, and not to exhibit my question, I've been considering a change of front brake calipers RS4 (8 piston) is that it is a direct replacement, but behind savannah wheels fit? greetings thanks
