Volkswagen have been saying for 11/2 years nearly that there was a technical problem and there were no kits available during this time. They have just become available again so you should be able to get it done at your dealer for about £300.

There is actually a kit on Ebay and quite reasonable considering you get the steering column ECU with it as they are £200 on their own.

I've just DIY'ed cruise control to my 2013 Rocco . Got the (genuine VW) parts off ebay , cost me £85 and works a treat !

I'm knocking together a 'How to' and will post it up soon :-)

Fuuuuuuu you're kidding? Ended up getting Cruise as a factory option as I didn't think it could be done to new Roccos. It's in transit now so too late for me haha. Nice work though, would be interested to see how you did it.

Here's the link to my 'How To' -

http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... 12&t=14802

Beats paying a 3rd party to do it for over £300 .

At £240 for a factory option , then i'd say it makes sense just to order it on a new car -but if you're buying a forecourt car without CCS (like i did) or you already own one , then for just a couple of hours work and some second hand parts of ebay its an easily achievable upgrade.

I read the 'How To' guide but just couldn't see myself achieving a decent result. Hazy Dayz want over £400 to come out and fit CC. I guess I will do without. Lol.

This thread is regarding the post Nov 2009/my2010.5/updated ecu cars that require a lot more & more expensive parts than the earlier cars who just need a revised stalk & coding (like your car), the £165 price is not applicable to them

Mine is a 12 plate. I know they are way more expensive to fit.

Now the kits are available from dealers again no one should be paying more than £300 for this.

Anyone know how much VW dealers are actually charging for the fitting & coding ? or even the retail price of the parts ?

Awesome GTI in Manchester offer to fit it for £375 , Be aware though ! - their advert states that if you need the steering wheel controller as well (and you probably will) - then this is an EXTRA £145 ! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fully-Fitted- ... 3cd0b251f9

I found this on ebay - genuine VW kit for 2010 Onwards £210 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-VW-Go ... 565c5709a6

But i've seen the same kit for £199

I did mine on the cheap using second hand parts ( you'd never know to look at them !) , and this Sunday I'm fitting & coding a kit for a guy from another 'rocco forum who sourced the parts himself from eBay in Germany.

It's really not that hard - the physical 'work' is much the same , it's just the damn cost of the bits for the 'White MFD' cars

Hi Lee,

That offer still open for retrofitting cruise control?! ;)

I'm looking to buy a scirocco but can't find any that have cruise control on them as standard (as well as parking sensors)..

Thanks

Big thanks to uklee. Followed your guide. No issues.

I purchased my parts from http://vwgolfr32.co.uk/shop/Retrofit-Cruise-Control.htm in Skelton.

Part numbers I used were 5K0953502M & 5K0953569AL

Absolutely first class service. Picked the parts up and due to the current national crisis I couldn’t get there until 20:30 in the evening. He opened up his shop just to help me. Top bloke. They do the installation for those that don’t want to DIY. Cost was £259 for brand new latest parts. Slip ring ends in AL. Apparently this was updated due to the L version snapping the ribbon.

All done [emoji736] . Cheers Lee[emoji106]
