Re: Im buying a new car, please advise
DCC on later cars was an (expensive) optional extra and became very rare as a result. It was a must have for me having had a 2010 GT with it previously and I hunted for months before finding my 2015 with it plus the perfect colour (and got xenons and dynaudio too!). You'll be lucky to find one but t...

Re: Das Welt cars
FYI my last two Scirocco's have been Das Welt and no issues whatsoever that weren't efficiently dealt with - one developed a problem with the seat ratchet and they replaced the seat with no argument; the other had a bad dynaudio speaker and again they just replaced it. I'd be most reluctant to buy o...

Re: DCC - am I supposed to notice a difference?
I have never had the button flash or anything entering the different modes so everyhing should work then? Where is it that you notice the difference the most? I want to make a few tests seeing if there really is a difference Just driving along a road that you know at normal speeds and switching fro...

Re: DCC - am I supposed to notice a difference?
" I pressed the button and it made some noises from under the car" FYI I've never heard any noises from the system on either of the Sciroccos I've had with DCC? I can confirm though that when there is a DCC fault the button just continuously flashes. My previous car was a MY2010 (59) and t...

Re: Rattle Noise when coming off accelerator Please Help !!!
The wastegate rattle is only when under load.Cuprabob wrote:If it's only happening when coming off the throttle it's unlikely to be the timing chain or tensioner.
It could be the wastegate rattle that is common on the 2.0 TSI

Re: Driving Position Ergonomics....
The only driving position position grief I have is the angle of the steering wheel. With the middle and bottom of the wheel in the right place the top of it is slightly too far away. Fix the top and the rest is too close! It's only a tiny difference of course but such things make a huge difference i...

Re: Is DAB radio discernably better than FM or is it hype?
The major advantage of DAB for me is that you can get Test Match Special on it (and other 5 Live Sport Xtra live broadcasts)! I do find the sound a bit crisper than FM.

Unbelievable quote for map updates
My 2015 R-line was in VW for service and MOT yesterday (all fine, as usual) and I asked them how much a map update would cost for my RNS315. On collecting my beastie I was told a map update would be..... wait for it...... £144.00 . Yes, One Hundred and Forty Four Pounds, Sterling. Is this a record? ...

Re: Buying a Scirocco GT 2.0 TSI 2009-04?
Ref frozen windows, similar to Tom, I just periodically use some silicone lubricant (Halfords) along the upper edges of the glass and inside the rubber seals in the bodywork and this winter I've not had the windows stick once despite some -6C to -8C nights and even freezing rain. The one thing you d...

Re: New owner ....need some insight
Ref your first point, you don't say what year your TSi is? MPGs have varied depending on year. My old 2010 TSi DSG would typically do 290-310 miles with my usual mix of urban and duel carriageway but very rarely motorway (it'd do a lot more on long motorway runs). Over 6 years ownership the overall ...

The R-Line's went to 180hp as well. It was only the GTS that kept 220hp when they changed the others.Cuprabob wrote:I thought you had an R-Line? In which case I said that was 220bhp.

Re: 2.0 TSI MPG
I might be wrong but I think the 2015 2.0 TSI engine output dropped to 180bhp for the normal models Almost right but it depends on when in 2015. Mine is a 2015 with a 220 engine and with the Bluemotion Annoyance. The mpg (with the blasted BM off, always) is definitely improved over my previous 2010...

Re: Why doesn't it pop?!
I've been out today trying to detect a basey pop but can't hear anything. We need a tunnel where I live (Northants) but there's not much chance of that happening. I'm convinced it's not popping at all. Great shameParadox1 wrote:Mine had a basey pop but wasnt anything dramatic.

Why doesn't it pop?!
I've had my 2015 R-Line DSG 220hp for just over a year having previously spent 6 years with a 210hp DSG GT. In the 210 like "all" petrol DSG's the exhaust would happily pop on upshifts when pushing it and with judicious use of the right foot I could make it pop at will, anytime I liked. Wi...

Re: 2.0L Tsi Wastegate Rattle Cure?
The wastegate rattle is on acceleration only, around 2-2,500 rpm, particularly in high gears. It's not terminal, just bloody irritating. It doesn't sound like your issue if you're getting it on decel.Dinofreitas wrote:Hi guys I think I have this issue does it sound like a metal rattle mine happens on decelerating

Re: Normal oil temp
My 220HP sits at around 104 most of the time, my previous 210HP was typically 95.
I keep below 3000rpm until the oil is 90 or over.

Re: Dynaudio + spare wheel?
Thanks both! I was told that the sub replaces the spare wheel and there's an inflation kit strapped in the boot, but I've now asked for that to be checked and yes, there is a spare wheel with the sub sat in it! I think the 'kit' in the boot is probably the jack etc. That is correct. There is a box ...

Re: Dynaudio + spare wheel?
I have a 2015 R-Line with Dynaudio and the sub is sitting inside the spacesaver, that's how it came. If the one you're buying hasn't got a Spacesave then I assume it has run flat tyres?

Re: Where do I stand on returning my scirocco?
The DCC problem isn't a major thing, it just would have been nice to have all the 'luxury' functions working properly, especially as this is my first proper car! Also concerns me in terms of future saleability. If people know what they're looking at it would certainly raise question marks and if it...
