Re: 1.4TSI Oil Usage
you should need to top up between service intervals unless you driving the crap out of it.
I have also had the high oil usage, discovered a broken piston (between the compression rings) - engine was replaced. No questions asked at 45 000km

Update on engine failure
VW has approved that engine will be replaced in entirety.
Engine on order.
Lets see how long that takes here in South Africa (there are thousands of TSi's here).
Will be interesting to see how the warrenty will work in the future.

1.4 Tsi missfire and engine failure
My Roc current back at the dealers again. All started with the dreaded misfire. Eventually only on 3 cylinders and heavy oil usage. Cylinder head removed and piston cracked in ring groove. Total engine swop hopefully soon. This is a COMMON problem. Keep an eye on your misfire problems before it is t...

Re: Spark Plugs on 1.4TSI 160HP
Also had the misfire problem on my Tsi, no 1 plug replaced. Put the remap back on and its going like a boeing again. Interestingly enough I had a 2.0 DSG as a loan car during the few days that VW were trying to sort my car out. Wanted to put an offer in to buy it, but my common sense got the better ...

Re: Tail Gate rattle - My final answer
My rattle came back. One thing I forgot to mention: (Excuse the description) The luggage area "cover" (part attatched to the 2 strings) has two small soft rubber L shaped pads attached to it to cushion the cover from the hard plastic on the LHS and RHS of the luggage compartment (boot)(not...

Re: Xenons - Surely there is a problem?
Same problem on mine. Note you can not adjust them without VAG. A HUGE difference after adjustment That's not completely right. The adjustment will stick if done manually. The zero point though has to be reset using VAGCOM, mine hasn't had this done yet but I haven't noticed any ill effect. WTF ===...

Tail Gate rattle - My final answer
I think I have read every post on the annoying tail gate rattle. I have adjusted the bump stopped NUMEROUS times, had it at the agents, inspected all the plastics etc etc. Asked one of my guys at work to cut me some sticky sided foam rubber to play with in various locations. He pointed out the WARNI...

1.4 TSi ECU reprogramme campain
Had my 1.4TSi (160) at the dealer for it's second (30 000km) (done in one year) service. Pre service paperwork shows that there is a VW ECU reprogram campain on the 140 TSi. You are asked if the vehicle is chipped etc - obviously no mention was made of my Chip-Logic remap. I get the car back and the...

Re: Retrofitting a RCD510
My 140 Tsi came with the RCD510 (I was lucky - it had the bi-zenons, fogs and RCD 510 - all as I wanted)
BUT - please tell me more about the powered sub that you installed.

Re: Headlight adjustment - bi Xenon
If you adjust it mechanically does the auto leveling not compensate for this ?
Not sure when I will get it to agents again (although it has full maintenance package)

Headlight adjustment - bi Xenon
Any idea on the adjustment. I feel my Bi Xenon lights shine FAR to low. I know it is self leveling. Is there anyway to get the lights to shine higher? VAG setting/mechanical?? Had the car for a year know, but was the first time I have been on the open road (long distance) at night, not too impressed...

Re: bluetooth
I did a self install of a Fiscon (Kufatec) in my Roc. It works flawlessly with my RCD 510 radio and MF steering wheel. Barons in Bellville Cape Town ticked the box on the software. The install is easy (pull the plug from the radio and fit the "extension" The hands free kit really finishes ...
