Re: Scirocco 2.0 TSI 2009 Driveshaft - transmission leak
I'm happy you sorted it as we had the same problem at the same time (Ive fixed mine aswell). For anyone else finding this thread in the future.... If you are doing this on the tsi engine (mine is the cczb) the vacuum pump bolts are no joke. They go directly into the cylinder head which is alluminium...

Re: Scirocco 2.0 TSI 2009 Driveshaft - transmission leak
Does it look like fresh oil? If so the leak might be from above then. I would take the air filter box out and have a look around to see if you can see where it's coming from.

Re: Scirocco 2.0 TSI 2009 Driveshaft - transmission leak
Stand battery side and shine a light between the battery and your air intake and you should see the top of your gearbox. See if it is moist.

Re: Scirocco 2.0 TSI 2009 Driveshaft - transmission leak
Are you 100% sure it is coming from the transmission? I am currently fixing an oil leak where I noticed oil in the same place as yours. I did a bit of looking around under the air intake and noticed the top of the gear box was moist and found it was leaking from my vacuum pump on the side of the cyl...

This link has the audi version which I'm guessing wouldn't be far off from the vw one.

Re: Retrofit Viritual Cockpit
I researched this a time ago and no one has done it as far as I could see. The problem is I believe the passat and the golf are different newer platforms. The scirocco is based off the mk6 golf pq35 platform, the golf 7.5 is mqb and I believe the passat is pq46. From googling a while ago its very di...

Re: 2.0 TSI Timing Chain Tensioner Question
From my personal experience I changed the 3 guides (the top and 2 sides), the main chain and the tensioner itself. Then the lower timing chain cover is a one use item so should be replaced along with the bolts for it also. The chain and the tensioner are the main replacements because the chain stret...

Yellow and red dots
I am always getting these little red or yellow gooey spots on my car and always have. Supposedly it's bug poop but they are so stubborn to get off. Over the past year I've tried every chemical from bug to tar removers but the only way that works consistently is clay bar. Does anyone know any better ...

Re: Unable to Start Engine and MFD Error Messages
I don't know if this is relevant but Clicking is the sound of a relay. The battery has enough juice to run accessories but not enough CCAs to turn the motor over, you need a new battery. Batteries often die during a cold spell as CCA is related to temperature, in warmer weather an old battery can pu...

Re: Ball Joint Dust Cover
My car failed its mot on a front nearside ball joint so i got a TRW brand one for £29 from euro car parts. If i was you i would change the ball joint while you're there as you have to knock the top bolt down to get it off to try replace the cover and thats the hardest part of changing it. Plus you m...

Yeah it's just over 5 litres. It comes premixed or not so look out for that when buying so you know if you need to buy the water with it.

Re: Project Timing chain
On and off I put about 30 miles on it today. It's running better than ever. No errors no shakes nothing. I'm really happy and I would recommend getting a carbon clean to anyone as the clean valves has made so much difference to the car. I had to check the car was running when i stopped in traffic as...
