On the whole the DSG is reliable but if it does fail then it can be expensive to fix. The most common failure on the 6 speed is the Mechatronics Unit which to replace with a new one can be £2k however there are companies that can repair them for a few hundred quid. the mk6 gti engine is the same as the 20T in the scirocco. Ive had my tensioner changed. you dont really need to change the chain, its more the tensioner. I cant remember the part number for the revised tensioner but its only so you'll have to do a bit of digging. Your looking at about 3-400 quid t...
