thanks for the reply, yes they are indeed different engines, with mk7 having a much less 'laggy' more progressive response. Mine was a manual which i suppose gives more 'options' off the line, but regardless, its a significant step up (sound aside)

Great review mate, I feel similarly about mine, having come from a mk7 golf R, which whilst objectively a better car, didn't have the character of the scirocco. Biggest complaint for me is the lag of the line, wondering if a remap will address this?

Just did the flapper mod too, and definitely sounds louder at low revs, super easy to do, no jacks or ramps needed, just pull the hose from the black housing next to the left tailpipe and blank with a screw or similar, didn't get to test the drone at cruising speed, but if it's a bit much it's a 30s...

Great feedback, and would agree with most of this. I was expecting to miss the golf more than I do, but The scirocco has been impressive. Things I would improve are the lag off the line, it really does take a good second to fill its lungs, and a quicker steering rack, it really does reduce the sense...

No worries mate, yeah I was mib 1, and the 2 in the Rocco is much nicer, annoyingly though, there's no 'car' screen with mpg etc, that's all on the mfd!

Wasnt expecting a great deal, coming from the technically superior mk7 golf R, but have been in for a pleasant surprise!, it rides really well in comfort mode (far better than a stock 7R on 18's), and firms up nicely in sport. I did the same, was too cheap to miss out!, youre totally right about not being able to use the power most of the time. I guess the scirocco has more exclusivity. will see what the ride is like before figuring out whether to lower or not!. Any plans for yours?

Congrats on the car, it looks fantastic!, il be taking delivery of an Indium DSG next week, coming out of a mk7 Golf R manual (fantastic car), couple of questions, What tyres did yours come on?, also how do you find the ride quality with DCC, and what mode are you tending to prefer?
