Scirocco GT or R
I'm about to trade in my 2.0 14 plate Bluemotion GT. Looking to get another scirocco, slightly newer at the same price monthly. I love the R Line and i've seen a 65 plate, black, automatic with the full shebang of heated seats etc. Or my other option is to look at another scirocco GT in the 17 plate...

Private number plate advice
Looking for some advice as the internet isn’t throwin up much help. I was presented with a private reg plate for my Roc from my other half. I was named as the nominee on the certificate and assignment fee was prepaid, as well as the plates already being made up. I just had to transfer it to my Roc a...

Re: Wastegate clip
Damn. I was hoping this was the answer to my prayers. The rattle noise I get when under acceleration is embarrassing. No garages can find it. Il need to keep looking

Re: Wastegate clip
Volkswagen don’t do the clip on its own now. They’re quoting £164 for the actuator and £95 to fit. The only part number I can find on the forums is 06J 145 220 A and that doesn’t seem to be compatible with sciroccos when looking on eBay. I’m at a bit of a loss, so if anyone can send a link to one th...

Grit stuck in window frame
I’m having an issue with my drivers window. There seems to be some tiny grit lodged in the frame, so every time the window goes up or down I hear the god awful scraping noise and I have scratches all over the window. I’ve tried cleaning the insides where the window drops with a damp cloth but this i...

Re: Turbo help
I’d be p***ed if i need to change the whole turbo when the car has only done 29,000miles. I think I’d kick up a stink with the garage I bought it from, even though it’s out of its 2 month standard warranty. But it really does sound like the wastegate actuator from the video links.

Re: Turbo help
Thanks so much, this has been really helpful. I've had the car almost 3 months and the noise has been driving me crazy. I've had it into two garages and they've both said they cant find nor hear anything, at one point I thought I was going mad. In fact, I even test drove a bogey green turbo scirocco...

Turbo help
Apologies for my ignorance here but this is the first time I’ve had a GT with turbo. When I accelerate I hear a raspy noise with what I can only describe as a ticking, like something’s vibrating. I just wondered if this is the normal sound from a turbo when it spools up? Should the noise disappear a...

Re: Steering wheel and boot rattle - help a girl out
So just an update. I've loosened the bump stop as suggested, hasnt made any difference whats over. Tried various adjustments but still hasnt fixed the issue. Taken everything out of the boot, including parcel shelf. I'll be damned if i take it to VW who want to charge £80 just to diagnose the issue.

Re: Steering wheel and boot rattle - help a girl out
So I've managed to have a quick look and it appears the clunking noise is coming from the left hand side of the boot. There is a bit of give in it when I push down on the boot when its closed. Opening it up, it appears that the left boot strut is much looser than the other side. Is it possible to ti...

Steering wheel and boot rattle - help a girl out
My Roc has developed the dreaded boot rattle over the weekend. I’ve had the passenger shelf, spare wheel etc out and checked the struts and all seem fine. It’s starting to drive me crazy, is there anything I can do? The steering wheel has developed a rattle too but knowing where this comes from I’m ...

Front Mudflaps Wanted
Firstly, I know what people think of mudflaps on Rocs, but I live in an area with horrible roads, grit and stones that are constantly being chucked up onto the paintwork so looking to source some front mudflaps for my GT. VW quoting £100+ vat fully fitted but looking to see if there’s any where else ...

Re: Ticking noise accelerating
I’d probably say it’s Rev dependant but the noise is just more noticeable at specific speeds. Pushing my foot on and off the accelerator I hear it but not if the car is sitting idle which is frustrating. It’s a difficult noise to describe, but more of a ticking noise. If I’m doing long distances I g...

Ticking noise accelerating
On my second Roc now, so I am quite in tune with the engine noises. My last Roc was a 2.0 TDI and this one is a GT Turbo diesel. What I notice is a highly annoying ticking noise when accelerating. Sounds more prominent from the drivers side, hear it most around 30-40mph but it only happens when the ...

Re: Squeaky dash
Yup and my steering wheel has developed a really loud creak. I know where it’s coming from as if I shove my finger in the space beside the steering lever it stops. To be fair, my whole Roc creaks and rattles especially when it’s cold.

Re: whats your weather like
Pretty bad in Scotland. Most businesses around shut at 12pm amidst the frenzy that we went from amber alert to red by Met Office. Hasn’t snowed much since 2pm. Just turning to slush now. My GT is covered in crap. Rising blue seems to show all of the grit and dirt on the side of the car. Getting some...

The noise....CRINGE
On my second scirocco now my first being an 09 red 2.0 TDI. Picked up a 64 plate metallic blue GT last month. One thing that is driving me crazy is the noise of the stones and grit rattling about the wheel arches and underneath the car. I cringe everytime and think of the damage it must be doing. I ...

Re: Laura's Rising Blue Rocco
I’ve got a rising blue Scirocco GT 2.0 TDI, the colour like yours is a lovely stand out colour but how do you find the general paint work in terms of showing wear and tear? Seems to be an awful colour when showing stone chips and scratches? I’ve PPF’d the front end. Also unlike my last Scirocco whic...
