Re: Retrofit new ABS module for ESP deactivation?
That would do the trick. How do you unplug the ABS?

Re: Retrofit new ABS module for ESP deactivation?
Thanks guys, really is appreciated. I've emailed ask tuning for some quotes, just awaiting a reply. Still no luck disabling this dam ESP though. Considering calling VW to ask how much a new ABS module is - I'm guessing not cheap.

Re: New ESP system
Yeah me too. It just said code not accepted. Anyone know if you can replace the ABS module with an up-to-date 2012 version allowing the coding??

Re: Retrofit new ABS module for ESP deactivation?
Yeah I think I'm confused - I thought the WALK kits were new engine mounts?? Basically need to stop the wheel hop as on wet roads its quite bad, although I do realise being more careful with the right foot does also help. Also when fitting the new pads, it amazed me how easy it was to move the entir...

Re: Retrofit new ABS module for ESP deactivation?
Your reading my mind - that's my next mod! Looking at a Quaife at the moment or VR racing LSD, anyone any experience with these?? Still need to turn off the ESP though to allow full slip/lift-off oversteer in the corners.

Re: R Brake pad Upgrade
Thanks everyone for your help on this, much appreciated. I have decided on the DS2500's however for the life of me I can't find part numbers anywhere - can anyone help with them?

Re: R Brake pad Upgrade
Just on the track, and then it takes about two weeks for them to stop the "juddering" driving on the road. Have had loads of people look at them, and we all seem to be in agreement that the stock discs are quite substantial and can take a hammering. However the pads are leaving physical ma...

Re: R Brake pad Upgrade
Yes I would love to, however, thats £2000 compared to £50 which I'm just not willing to spend at the moment. Although I whole heartedly see your point and in a perfect world I would do that. For the time being I just want to replace the pads to try and stop this one problem. I'm really not fussed at...

R Brake pad Upgrade
Hi All, Need some advice. I have an issue with the current brake pads on the R, they are overheating and transferring material onto the discs causing juddering. I realise that the basic brake setup on the R is not great and that the brake pads are comically small (seriously VW what the hell!), howev...

Re: R Engine problems
All standard fit. Just done the track day at Snetterton and the car was perfect, so spark plugs seemed to have cured the problem.

Re: R Engine problems
Thanks RW1, that looks like what the problem has been. If it rears its head again I'll go buy some iridiums.

Re: R Engine problems
So finally have the car back after a coil pack 1 replacement and brand new set of spark plugs which now seems to have fixed the problem. Engine feels back to full power and is making the right sounds and no sign of stuttering or misfiring as of yet. I'm off to Snetterton tomorrow so if its not fixed...

Re: R Engine problems
Spoke to them this evening, and they have replaced coil pack one. They took it for a test drive and it continued to stutter. The engineer told me that they have now taken out the spark plugs and replaced them and they were heavily fouled - not too sure why?? Anyway he's going to test drive it again ...

Re: R Engine problems
Thanks snapey. Will give it to them tomorrow and see what they come up with. If they say nothing wrong I'll hint the coilpacks.

Re: R Engine problems
Hello again all, Apologies for bringing this up again, however the problem has risen again but even worse. To give a bit of history this is what has happened so far: 1. Have only used Shell Optimax, BP Ultimate and Tesco Momentum 99 in the car. 2. Last tank was Tesco Momentum 99 fuel, about 2/3 full...

Re: R Engine problems
Just thought I should let everyone know the outcome, I think that the stuttering must have been caused by swapping between 95/98 RON at some point (although I seldom do that) or fuel contamination. Ran the tank empty, then have been filling up constantly with either optimax or ultimate and the probl...

Re: R Engine problems
Will get onto that forum right now. I've run a full VCDS scan and a couple of malfunctions have appeared, however I'm pretty sure nothing to do with the engine: Address 09: Cent. Elect.
