Re: Is it necessary for a clutch upgrade

I've got a generic stage 2 map on my 2.0gt tsi at the moment at around 280-290 bhp and not sure if I should go back to a stage 1 just so that I can use the standard clutch. Some people say that a stage 2 with a standard clutch would also be fine . What's your thoughts please guys as it's a lot of m...

It could be the release bearing.

Re: Gearbox Oil MQ250 (KWB) 6-speed manual gearbox

My car is a 2.0 tsi (2010) and the gearbox is known as 02Q, I'm not sure if the newer Scirocco uses the gearbox you mentioned.

I would say you're gearbox can use 75w90. If in doubt ask a VW specialist garage or contact a VAG parts website they will know best.

Re: Looking for advice

I think I saw this question on Facebook earlier lol might have been you. I had a similar thing but I'm unsure as to what it was exactly. I tried replacing the spring in the Forge diverter valve and replacing the o-rings. Couldn't find any vacuum leaks etc. The only thing I did that stopped it was re...

Re: Gearbox Oil MQ250 (KWB) 6-speed manual gearbox

I've used good quality 75w90 gearbox oil a few times. It's a 02Q 6 speed manual gearbox sire that would be ok for you too. But check the compatibility first.

Re: Excessive Noise At Certain Speed

Try to describe the noise a bit more if you can. Is it high/low pitched, whirring, scraping, squealing, knocking? Does it come with any vibrations? Is it constant at 90 or only when you accelerate or decelerate through 90? Does it only do it in one gear? Sent from my SNE-LX1 using Tapatalk It’s a l...

Re: SICROCCO

You are the first i hear that have the original DMF with also a stage3 and without problems, in other forum, like golfmk6.com, some people have your setup and after some months they have vibrations and noise in neutrual gear. I do have vibrations, but that is because of stiffer bushes and engine/tr...

Thanks very much for answer! So the Sachs DMF work good also in stage3, really happy to hear that. :hyper: How many HP do you have? The kit you bought its like this in the picture? kit frizione doppia massa.JPG Because I am undecided whether to buy this kit with DMF, or the motorsport kit with OMF ...

Re: Replacing Rocker Cover Seal / Timing Chain Tensioner + S

Has someone sprayed white paint on the engine? The tensioner is a must if not completed before, they are a ticking time bomb.

It is a time consuming job to do properly so it could easily cost that much to be fair. Mostly labour time charge.

Re: Gearbox diff

The front strut top mounts might want replacing, or possibly the cv joint on one side could be worn or damaged. But id take to an approved VW specialist (not a main dealer) to be honest, if you can. That sounds tricky to diagnose.

Re: What to look for in a DA polisher?

I use the Challenge Extreme. Only an entry level polisher I got from Argos but it gives great results with good quality pads and polish

Re: Turbo lag when full acceleration

I had this type of symptom recently. I still do not know what it was or the cause, but i removed the coil packs and spark plugs (which werent tight strangely) to check them. When i re-fitted them the problem went away. Perhaps try that to start. (If petrol engine of course). It could be lots of thin...

Re: Supermarket fuel?

Supermarket fuel should be fine. BP Ultimate (i think) and Shell V-Power often give better fuel economy give and definitely help to increase performance ever so slightly (especially shell) because of the higher octane. If you can afford the slight extra spend on premium fuel it is worth it atleast e...

Re: Timing chain tensioner

If the timing case is being removed, it would be daft not to to replace the chains and runners too. Oil pump chain should be ok to leave, It often is. The parts aren't that expensive and shouldn't add too much labour time at all. But labour prices will sting in many places. There is a little gauze f...

Re: To Garage or Not To Garage

Euro cars handle bad weather better these days to be fair. Mines been outside since 2013 bar a couple of weeks while polishing ect. It could be worth having it professionally undersealed for max protection or DIY with hammerite or similar products. Keeping a car clean is tedious especially in winter...

Re: Clutch going?

I had this a while ago, the noise is often the release bearing (central slave cylinder) wearing out. The dual mass flywheel will more than likely have too much play as did mine which may cause issues also. You may aswell get it changed [emoji106] Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk I've got the s...
