Re: SNOW!

Yeah I have the Continental Sport on mine and they were absolutely terrible in the snow, couldn’t even get home one night and so bad that I considered changing to an AWD car for next year Even test drove a Focus RS (which I thought would have been faster) but decided that investing in some winter ty...

Re: Expected tyre wear

That’s interesting to note on the 1.6mm tyre maintenance contract requirement, also not being able to choose which tyre they use makes it seem more preferred to buy yourself. I’ve just done 19k in mine and at the last service in January the front tyres were at 4.5mm (approx) and the rear at 5.5mm (a...

Long term is 30.1, long motorway journeys average between 34 - 38 depending on speed. Short term usually stands at around 28.

Shell V Power Nitro+ always mate unless you can't get to a Shell garage then highest available grade. Makes me laugh when R owners talk about economy and fuel prices hehe. Stuff the planet its doomed already, burn some oil xD Sent Via tapatalk Some would argue that the real problem with carbon emis...

Re: Scirocco R - New Purchase (lease or buy)

This is who I have gone with, will feedback on their service once the order is complete and I'm driving about in the R with a big smile on my face ha. I wasn't able to pay extra for the panoramic sunroof which I really wanted but for the price I think it's a small trade off :) So here we are, I pic...

Re: Post your facelift Scirocco R here

Saw a pic of yours on Instagram which prompted me to purchase some of the GTechniq products as per you hashtag. I've got to say, this condition of your car is immaculate, is there a specific product you are using to clean/maintain the paintwork or is it more of a routine you follow?

Re: New R Driver

Car looks amazing, no matter what colour R you see you automatically think, this is the best colour, sign of a quality looking car. Saw one just like this parked up in Manchester yesterday, absolutely stunning in white :)

Re: Scirocco R - New Purchase (lease or buy)

Boom, Scirocco R ordered in rising blue, I am so excited. Whilst the plan was to hold off until later this year so that the build date would be around March 2016 and on a new ‘16’ plate, I ended up being offered a good deal so decided to take it. Should be ready for Nov/Dec. Excited is an understate...

Security

Hi I'm looking to purchase my first Scirocco, likely towards the end of the year and until then I continue to build my knowledge. It’s unfortunate to hear of cars being stolen or broken into for their Sat Nav systems and so I will be looking to enhance the security in an attempt to reduce the risk. ...

Re: Manual or DSG?

I'm really confused by this sudden demand of DSG over manual, especially in a sports car. I can't help but wonder why so many people are moving away from manual. Surely there's an element of control being lost with a DSG and whilst I recognise the marginally improved speed and smoothness of gear cha...

Re: Scirocco R - New Purchase (lease or buy)

House first for me too Andy and yeah I'll be going through CarWow, unless a good 2nd comes on the Autotrader. As it stands it's looking like the end of the year when I'll be ready to buy, which hopefully might mean it'll be built and registered with a new 2016 plate, happy days :)

What a shame, where in Manchester was it taken from and what colour was it? Also, a bearlock, please can you provide a link?

Re: Scirocco R - New Purchase (lease or buy)

Indeed Andy it is and so given the loss over 3 years could roughly be the same for both, it seems wise to lose this amount of money on a new purchase over a second. Think I've answered my own question here or at least tried to convince myself to purchase a new build. Peace of mind knowing that a pre...

Re: Scirocco R - New Purchase (lease or buy)

Thanks for all the responses. I'm still contemplating with the idea of waiting for a 2nd as per my other post but I've been checking for months now a manual with less than 40,000 miles and under 4 years old is difficult to come across. Plus in terms of depreciation, buying new could roughly result i...

Is this an R or R-line?

Been on a while now this and it looks to me like an R but the description states it's the 261 HP R-line and one of the images also show R-line, confused. Can anybody shed any light? Also, seems expensive, shouldn't a 5 year old R be closer to £15,000? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/20...

Weekend Hire

Hi,

I''m just wondering if anybody knows if there's a company that will have a Scirocco R available to hire for a weekend?

Budget have offered me an S3 as an alternative but given that I intend to purchase an R, I was hoping to hire and get a feel for the car.

Thanks,
