Re: 2008 GT 2.0 TSi, rough idle and misfire

Sounds like it could be the intake flapper motor. I had the same issue, you can self diagnose it quite easily. Hope this helps:

Replacing Rocker Cover Seal / Timing Chain Tensioner + Seal

My car has recently failed its MOT due to an oil leak, I've noticed it has been leaking slowly for a while (i'd top the oil up every 6 months). I've been quoted just under £1200 to replace the rocker cover seal, timing chain tensioner, and seals or for £1100 without the new tensioner. Replacing the ...

Re: 2.0 tsi multiple cylinder misfire

Not sure on your exact problem, but as i have recently had 3 failed injectors i can say that when the injectors fail, they fail wide open and just spray fuel constantly, in my case this was flooding the engine and wouldn't even allow it to run It is also recommended to replace all injectors, i didn...

Re: P2015 inatke manifold flap solution?

Thanks for the help guys. :) I havent had time to take it apart just yet but Ive noticed an air leak on the right hand side where the flapper motor arm connects to the intake, if I put my finger over when it when started its clearly sucking in air. Re: P2015 inatke manifold flap solution?

Check this video out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yvfVUkuPY0k. Check the flapper motor where it plugs on to the flaps in the manifold, see if that has popped out. You'll need to take the engine cover off to see it clearly. It's on the right hand side of the manifold.

If you've got any questions I can try and help. The Youtube video was really useful. I really like the humble mechanics channel.

Re: What did you do to your Scirocco today?

Had some left over 6mm red tape from when I stuck it on the lower grill (but it came un-stuck after a while). So... tried a new location, stuck it on the vent / bottom of the lights. I

I actually prefer it over the tape on the lower grill!

Re: Intake Manifold Problem

Finally sorted the issue. I replaced the manifold... after taking it off I noticed the valves were coated in carbon so I cleaned that off and finally put it all back together with the new manifold. I cleaned the tips of the injectors too. Engine light (p2015 error) has gone on its own now and the ca...

Re: Intake Manifold Problem

P2015 error has come back, but my car is driving much better. I guess the drivability issues are caused by the air leak with the part popping out. Suppose the only way i'll get to the bottom of this is by taking the inlet manifold off! At least someone made this very helpful video :) https://www.you...

Re: Intake Manifold Problem

Ok think I've come up with a temporary solution. I've basically put a bit of glue on the inside of the plastic piece and pushed it back in. It seems to have worked, my car's running sweet again.

This is what it attaches to:

Re: Intake Manifold Problem

This is a picture someone else has taken and it's basically what is happening to my manifold... the part attached to the flapper motor pops out of the manifold. http://i1355.photobucket.com/albums/q720/danielramirez33/IMG_0485.jpg This is what the part looks like when it's in (not causing an air lea...

Re: Intake Manifold Problem

Jtbrown, I've got the same error code and problem on mine for a few months now but it does not affect performance or cause any drivability issue at the moment so I'm just going to ignore it unless there is a risk of further damage to something else. Mileage is 40k. What's your mileage ? 72K. Usuall...

Intake Manifold Problem

I've been getting P2015 error for a few days now (Intake Manifold Flap Position Sensor (Bank 1)). It was really rough while idling and had a few flat spots while lightly accelerating. I noticed that the plastic piece connecting the motor to the flap had popped out. See following video at approx 2:50...

Not sure how legal they are?

Pretty easy to install (bit fiddly), just open the back of the headlamp and twist the old bulb holder out and put the new bulb in.
