Re: Help please

I think you’ll find the cable harness is not an easy replacement. Is the cable damaged at the connector end? I had the same issue as you where the brake wear light came on but the pads are good. I found that the connector was cracked and water got into the contacts and corroded them. I fitted a repl...

Re: Rattles and squeaks

One question, do your door handles squeek when you grab them to open, or close the door? Or when you just grab them and give them a tight squeeze? Mine has always done this and I've never liked it. However, I recently had the door cards off and before I put the handles back together I sprayed the i...

Re: Rusty screw on inside of door

Managed to get these and replace them. They were 42p each from the dealers. The new ones actually look very slightly different and come with a nylon washer. Not much left of my old ones either. Added a little white lithium grease in attempt to make them last longer.

Re: Rusty screw on inside of door

That website looks quite handy, had a look myself and it's not shown on the door with the rest of the fixings.

This is the screw we are talking about:

Rusty screw on inside of door

With the door open, there is a screw head on the lower corner of the door, side closest to the car body.
I have noticed it looks a bit rusty and it's started to annoy my every time I open the door! Before I remove it, what is the fixing for and can anyone help with a part number for a replacement?

I'd prefer gloss rather than matte if it was mine

Thanks bro. Look forward to your photos then! The other ones I had looked at were from bold sport. Good luck with the fitting. Do you have spare door panel clips?

Re: Rear shocks

Those were the prices from a few weeks ago anyway, maybe you'll have more luck when you phone. At least you didn't need 1 front Spring and 1 rear Spring at the same time as the damper, VW wanted £720 to fix all that! I went to a friends garage and had all 4 springs, front top mounts, drop links and ...

I recently had a rear shock replaced, they are £184.89+vat at TPS and the same £220.66 from the dealers. And yes DCC one is a dealer only part. Sorry, lol.

Re: Black badges?

Are the gloss black badges from parts4euro good quality? The description says they are proper black plastic, not just sprayed chrome ones. I got some eBay ones and one of them have a smudged mark across it so deciding whether to have them exchanged or if there are better ones out there.

Re: Checked your tailgate lately?

My car goes to VW next month for tailgate repair. I was considering debadge and a black VW too! Did they supply brand new badges? Did you ask them to give you badges but leave them off? I'd like to do the same.

Same module kit I fitted recently  Was easier than I thought it would be to take the interior to bits.
Does yours just display 'BT-Audio' when you play music? I thought I might get a track name.
