Without a doubt it will happen again, if its flagged up once, it must have been faulty, your dealer response seems a bit unhelpful, they could still check the coil pack resistance with out fault codes.As far as I know turning the engine off does not remove the fault codes, only the warning lights.

Are they being replaced with OEM Bosch coilpacks or the cheaper Beru ones? Although more expensive, OEM are better quality and have a 2 year warranty. I would suggest anyone with a petrol VAG car, buy a couple of OEM coilpacks and keep them in the car as spares as they are almost becoming a consuma...

This helps a great deal,

Just trap a sheet of newspaper the night before, next morning the seals havent frozen to the glass, do it when you cover the windscreen.
