Hi all. Anyone know anything about a product called Chipex. I have a few stone chips and surface scratches that I would like to deal with and have read about this, some saying good, and some bad. Anyone used it?

I used it n my Lotus and its ok, but if you have lots of chips a respray is probably going to be the only way to get rid of them properly for a while at least!

I have always got myself a small tin of base paint mixed up at a local motor paint supplier and just dibbed a little blob in to the chip - its pretty effective from any distance and perfectly good solution unless your bonnet is peppered with em...

I bought chipex a few months ago and I thought it was great. Really good for stone chips...easy to apply and colour match is excellent. Not so great on scratches though...you're probably better off trying a compound or something to get these out provided they're not deep. Couldn't recomment Chipex highly enough though...light years ahead of the touch up stick that you'll buy from the VW dealer or halfords. If the stone chips are deep/severe you might have the build up the layers of chipex paint in order to blend with the rest of your paint work but for light stone chip...chipex is great and normally one coat will do the job! And no...I'm not working on commission for chipex!!! P.s. With the solution mixture that chipex provide....you also avoid the 'blobbing' that you often see with other finished stone chip repairs.
