Hi everyone, I've done it at last, swapped my 1.4 for an R and I'm absolutely over the moon with it. It puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. Hope you like the pics.
The only thing I'm a little disappointed with is the exhaust notes, It doesn't sound deep enough for my liking, but I was spoilt with the Miltek (Non Res) on my old 1.4. Does anyone have any advice on how I could make the current stock exhaust sound deeper without having to shell out for a new Miltek.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Very nice, looking forward to finally getting mine ordered. Was your 1.4 DSG or a manual, if DSG how you findin the manual box compared to DSG?

Hi Daz, thanks for the nice comments. My 1.4 was a manual. The R manual feels a lot better in my opinion, much slicker with shorter shifts. :-)

LOL, I was just reading your thread regarding the APR. From what you say, I think I'm sold! How much did it set you back, if you don't mind me asking..

Full system was £1,500, such a quality piece of kit and the amount of R&D gone into it really shows. worth every penny. turns heads massively but subtle when you're just crusing. open up the throttle and BOOM!

I did the mod too and it does make it louder earlier on, have moved to a Non-Res Milltek cat back for now and it is much better. Enjoy the R

Just wanted to thank everyone for the advice. I decided to go for a Milltek - Non-Res cat back. It looks and sounds great.
Big thanks to Charlie over at Milltek for looking after me and for sorting out the pics.

Thanks for that pointer about the flapper mod - just done it and definitely sounds more gruntier at tickover! Not drove it yet to see if it gets annoying but will see how it goes

Hey man Just a question... The exhaust tips from the Original R are bigger than the Milltek ones? which one you prefer!?

I've definitely seen this car in Sheffield! Or am I wrong? The exhaust pipes look amazing. Very nice car
