My New Baby

Hi,

I just collected my new Scirocco. Its a candy white GT TDi 170 DSG demonstrator with a few choice options:-

19"Lugano wheels
RNS 510 DVD Nav, Voice control, Dynaudio, 6 CD changer
Bluetooth
Cruise Control
Parking Sensors
Sunroof

First impressions are great, loving the engine and gearbox. It's my first diesel and was a little concerned it would be noisy and slow (my old car was a BMW 330Ci) but it's neither noisy or slow. The only disappointment is that the bluetooth won't pair with my iPhone 4 (that’s how I found this forum, searching for a solution). Also I think I will get the MDI unit for the stereo when I get around to it.

Hi Paralla and :welcome:
Is your car a UK spec ? If so it should already have the MDI in the armrest and the dealer should supply the cables foc.

I got the Denison unit fitted for £200 by a car audio specialist. It has an Apple 30 pin connector in the glove box. Been using it for a couple of days now and it works great.

Its very fast, not laggy, it has great search functions from the RNS 510 (album, artist, playlist, etc). Artist and track info on the MFD, the steering wheel controls work and it goes soft when navigation instructions are being spoken just like the radio does.

VW wanted £350 fitted for a Media-In kit for the glove box (rather than the armrest). The only thing is that the 6CD changer in the armrest no longer works which for me is not a problem, I had the option of spending more on a Denison kit that retained the CD player but I never use it so didn’t waste the money.
