Few questions for a potential owner

Hi,

I am currently in the market for an 'R', I was wondering if a few people could post up their average MPG and miles to a tank, preferably town driving but any will do. The fuel is not a problem, just wanted do the sums before hand to work out if I want to go for another thirsty car or take the plunge and go Diesel.

I have owned a couple of thristy cars - A Nissan 350z and my current car an Astra 2.0 turbo. The Astra averages around about 25mpg town driving with the occasional heavy right foot. Would this be roughly the same as the 'R'?

Thanks

Darren

I dont know how u r gonna use it (daily or weekend drive) but its a very cost effective car, regarding its performance class.
I have 19s (which increase consumption) and manual gearbox.
Since we have a different metric system ,I can only tell Liter and Kilometer numbers.
9lt/100km (6 gear cruising) to 12lt/100km ...

1 lt~0.25 gallon
1 mile=1.6 km.

Thanks for the replies,

Still not sure if the R would be worth the £60 extra per month that the lease company would charge

I can quite honestly say it is. £60 extra? Bargain!

Make it happen! :D

DSG here and 15k miles in. I do long motorway commutes which can get to 40mpg but my average is 30, so whilst that means Im spanking it round town at circa 20mpg I think getting 30 overall from the car is unbelievable.

Thanks,

still undecided on which scirocco to get, how much roughly do most of you spend a month on fuel in your R's?

Obvious statement alert but really depends on your mileage / mpg and fuel cost.

Miles Per week / mpg x ltr per gal x price per ltr = weekly spend

250 / 30 x 4.55 x £1.30 = £49.29 or £200 p/m

Would be significantly more if you run on V-Power / Tesco ultimate etc ..

I reckon I spend around £60 a week as my mpg is averaging less than 30 overall.
