Just to share pix of the event. Was lucky to have a VIP pass to the pits. Although held in Malaysia for 2 of the 6 races in the series, it's really meant for the burgeoning China market! Wasn't lucky enough for a chance to get a taxi ride in one though!

Yes, I wondered about that exhaust, but the way these races are run (you pay something like 40000 Euros) and VW Racing preps the car for you, these drivers have no second thoughts about banging their cars. Because VW R will knock it back right for you. I suspect that exhaust might've been 'dislodged' from all that close combat.

They're run on standard DSG box but with all the de-cat, damn, it sounds like, well, a screamer!

Actually the R is a misnomer, these are just regular 2.0 Rocs pushing 240 hp or so with ABT Stage 1 and tuned 'linear' gearing. The front brakes are Audi R8 rears with rears as standard. And the interior is stripped for weight, but yea, otherwise it's just a humble 2.0 Roc...
