Xenons - Cover Foil

Looking at ETKA to double check the Xenon bulb type, noticed that one of the parts listed is a "cover foil for headlamp".

Any ideas what this is for? No. 9 on the diagram. Can't find any reference and only 1 is needed for the car so looks like it only goes on one side.

Sounds like a better bet than the VCDS setting for continental driving which drops dip to a range of about 30 feet as far as I could make out when I tested it - stupidly dangerous and not recommended.

ETKA has the same description for halogen and Xenons, part numbers are:

1K8 998 981 - Halogen LHD
1K8 998 981A - Halogen RHD
1K8 998 981B - Xenon LHD
1K8 998 981C - Xenon RHD

So it looks like it's still the same thing, but different shape depending on whether the car has halogen or xenon lights.
