Hey everyone, I'm just enquiring as to what the handbrake is like on sciroccos and whether it's strong enough for decent handbrake turns.
Thanks in advance
.

Sorry I'm new to this kinda thing, I've heard that the handbrake on some newer cars isn't strong enough to fully lock the back wheels up :S.

The handbrake is fine for holding the car on hills etc (although i would combine with leaving the car in gear also), as for handbrake turns, well its not designed for that so i wouldnt know :-)

When your on your roof and waiting for the fire brigade to cut you out say hello to some of my colleagues. Don't forget to introduce yourself as Mr Richard Cranium.

Sorry I was just curious and wouldn't even consider doing it on a road anywhere, sorry if I've offended or annoyed anyone :/.

I'm sure you haven't offended anyone. Its just your question relating to handbrake turns is a litle "out of sync" with the views of many on here.

when we had that snowy winter in jan, i had to handbrake turn on a few occasions because the corner was too tight and i was understeering.
it work then, on snow and hard ice. But on a different surface i never tried it

Yes - the Roc is hardly part of the boy racer brigade (ie pimped up Saxo's).

Yes it works I tried it as stupid as it may sound I did it on a quiet highway right after the rain stop one time doing about 80 km/hr. Also tried on a dry track day it s not as sharp as those japanese cars though but it works just do a Scandinavian flick and pull the hand brake.
hope my answer to this question did not offend anyone here.
