Fiscon Bluetooth installers

Post by bluedjlatte »

Hi, I'm a newbie to the forum looking forward to taking delivery of my 09 2.0 tdi gt in a couple of weeks.
Having read all the threads on here re retro fit Bluetooth kits I will be looking to get a Fiscon kit fitted asap but as I am hopeless at these things I won't be doing the job myself. Does anybody have any recommendations for a decent vw orientated auto electrician in Essex/East London that may be able to supply and fit a Fiscon for me (possibly cruise control as well)?

I'm interested in a Fiscon kit too Bluedjlatte, I'd like to add what does such a kit cost to be installed? Assuming an installer is recommended?

Bluedjlatte & Cow,

If you do decide to go down the fiscon route, give the guys a call at richter sport who are fiscon distributors & our sponsors http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... m.php?f=43" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
They are based at Milton Keynes & have previously held free installation days at their facility :yes:

Thanks for the replies.
I am looking at the Fiscon rather than the VW Bluetooth mainly because I am not too keen on the idea of having the small screen that comes with the VW unit and I am not overly fussed about having voice control. However, it is interesting that the VW unit seems to be more popular than the Fiscon one. Is it a better unit?

The car I am getting has the multi function steering wheel and the red display so will the VW unit give me full control of the phone from the mfsw like the Fiscon? From what the dealer said it sounded like I wouldn't be able to use the buttons on the wheel to access the functions of the phone with the VW kit.

The VW unit does not have a separate screen it uses the headunit, your talking about the Bury kit that some dealers fit as an aftermarket option.

This is the VW unit we are talking about

Shaun, judging by your pics it looks like the dealer was offering me the Bury unit rather than the VW kit. Is there any reason why they would be offering the Bury rather than the VW unit when the Bury unit sounds like it is possibly inferior to the VW one?
Is the VW unit compatible with the red DIS and mfsw?

I don't think there is an official retrofit kit for VW kit that the dealers can buy. So they don't offer it as a retrofit. Aftermarket specialists buy all required parts and create the VW retrofit kit from there own experience of VAG vehicles.
08/11 - 12/13 2.0 TSI R DSG, Black / Black Vienna
01/09 - 08/11 2.0 TSI GT DSG, Black / Truffle Vienna

Black is the new Black....

As above really, VW just use a kit rather than the original proper parts that come when you order bluetooth from the factory, there are plenty of people that can fit this kit, you can get the whole set up on ebay for about then of course it needs fitting, oh and yes you can get kits specifically for the red dis also.
