Makes for interesting reading.... if I'm understanding the data properly.

If you're an R driver you're one of only 400 out there, of which just over half are DSG'd.

Some of the numbers are a little jumbled because it depends what the model designation is on the V5. For instance you might be down as a GT or a TSI so those numbers could possibly be combined which would make around 8000 or so of which nearly 3000 are DSG (I think S-A might be semi automatic). Two thirds of TDI 170s are DSG.

Interesting if you're a stat monkey :D

For my sins I had one of the last MG Metros. Only 35 left now! That doesn't surprise me :)

How do you work out 400? It's 665 with 357 DSG'd

as I understand it its how many there are that year total; taxed or registered sorn, not the number first registered that year, hope that makes sense. so the R is 170 + 226 on the road or sorn in 2011 so far, last year there was 138 + 131.

on a side note my dad has been looking at this & found some interesting ones; triumph tr5's are increasing as 225's (?) are being imported from america & 'turned into' tr5's because they are worth so much over here, & there are 45 austin mini pickups left of which he potentially has 3.

Correct. Each year those vehicles must be re-added to the list as they re-tax. Otherwise you'd have ever increasing numbers.

Its very inaccurrate and even reports on car model variants that were never separated out or identified on the V5.

I have one and the DVLA cannot tell me its a Corrado Storm, just its another VR6. Yet they list the Storm model. Over the years that has been the same for other Storm owners and the only way identify them is thro' VW (UK) [or me].

Wouldn't believe any of the data to be accurate or even near the mark.

I find it hard to believe there are only 419 TSI DSG Scirocco's on the road. A rare breed indeed

However, it does not distinguish between 122 or 160 ps models. As RW1 says... I don't trust the data which is a shame. An opportunity missed.
