scirocco replace ment ordered

Post by insanojackson »

Well looks like the scirocco is going, been into Land Rover today and put a deposit down on a range rover evoque for predicted jan/feb 2012 delivery. Would have liked it to have been earlier but work issues put me making an order back a couple of months.

Gone for pure spec 5 door in white with black leather. 150hp 4x4 manual and a couple of options.

Now what to do with the scirocco? keep it and get ripped on a part ex or try and sell it now? If i sell now i can run around in my vx220 until November or so and then buy a £500 banger to tide me through the cold months.

Its a rising blue 1.4tsi 09 plate with 12500 miles on it, option wise it has full black leather and the rns510 nav system, what do you recon it might be worth in a private sale?

Ah the same as mine was, lovely!

I imagine they offered you a silly price part-ex. Whats the harm in advertising it on here and pistonheads for free at a more sensible price? (particularly as you are not in a rush) If you sell then brilliant. If you don't then you've not lost anything you can still part-ex it.
Not many Sciroccos out there for sale so you might get a buyer quickly...

No part ex was discussed, as my car wont be coming til early next year it was impossible to predict. I am tempted to try and sell now and buy a snotter for as cheap as possible in about november to see me through the snow.

not a bad plan. I'm sure it will be easier to sell in the summer.
Hope it doesn't snow like it did last year in December just before you get your LR, that would be annoying.

I've got a lovely Octavia VRS estate for sale if you want a runaround, not quite the £500 snotter you were thinking of though!

Glass' guide says a basic 1.4(160) is worth £14400 in excellent condition part ex right now, your options are probably worth no more than a grand enhancement (depreciation on options is a killer!).

You should be looking to get £16k privately if it is immaculate, but don't forget, that car of yours will be depreciating at about £250 per month, so keeping it longer will reduce it's value.

Hope you got a great discount on the Landrover if there was no p/x in the transaction.

If you don't mnd me asking what kind of figures did the Evoque come in at? Its the one car that has me tempted so far when replacement time comes round.

I did receive an email last week offering them on a PCP deal for around £500pm which seemed rather expensive.

No deals on offer im afraid, the waiting list is already into next year.

They start at 27995 but i recon you could spec one up to nearly 50k if you went mad with options. Mine is the right side of 30k as im not a rich man.

I have been working on the evoque for a couple of years now, have to say I was really
Impressed with it even from the early prototypes. I was very tempted to order a 3 Dr myself but think I will end up with a Roc R next. I don't think you will be disappointed , IMO it is a cracking car which I expect to sell very well.

I got sent an e-mail the other day from Ferguson Vehicle Contracts - Contract Hire 3 + 35 10,000mpa is £395 + VAT - they weren't the most competitive when I got the Scirocco so I imagine with a bit of shopping around you could do better.
