Scirocco Central

Recieved my scirocco on tueday and im so pleased with it . better than i ever imagined. But i have a few questions that i hope anyone could answer and help.

1. I had a colour MFD and toward the bottam it has the speed of the car, but this is in KPH, does anyone know how to change this to MPH?

2. I have had the 6 CD changer and when i put my cd's from itunes (which has CD text enabled when i burn them) it doesn't show the song names or cd name, any ideas?

3. On the Satnav the media function has the options, SD CARD/CD/AUX and a bluetooth icon which is dulled out. anyone know how to use it?

4. Hod do you access the HDD and put song onto it and is there a usb slot?

5. I have ordered some DRL from http://www.nicheconversions.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.
i. How do you fit them?
ii. can you change the drl to turn off the halogen ones in the main headlights and put the sidelights on while light control is still in auto position? (VAGSCOM? which i dont have a clue about!!)


Think thats all i can think of at the moment, but if you can answer any of the questions, your help is appreciated!

1. it cant be changed AFAIK. Its for driving on the continent as the KPH isn't shown around the speed dial like a lot of other cars..

5i - DRLs? Do you mean you bought led bulbs to replace the standard bulbs for the sidelights, or something else?

5ii - Yes Vagcom can switch your DRL function off so that you can then just assign sidelights for DRL duty and have your dipped beam come on as intended with the auto lights function.

2 - Are your CDs in full audio track format (like a commercial CD), or are they on as MP3s? Either way you should have a structure of folders e.g Artist name > Album name > Songs (all individually named), then you will see the info of what is playing. If your songs are all numbered, but have smart tags for telling you what they are then the head unit will ignore the tag and just go with the actual name of the track.

Don't know the other answers, but I would suspect that for question 3, the bluetooth icon is there for completeness, and if you didn't spec bluetooth, it won't allow you to use it (hence the dulling out).

Bruntyy to add to the hdd you need to load up from an SD card, think you can possibly do it via cd but not got one myself so not 100% sure, it has been discussed before.

thanks guys, yeah i have ordered the replacement sidelight/indicator light box which im told i just need to replace but not sure how! about the bluetooth thing, there was no option to spec bluetooth audio or anything like that so :s not sure!

so do i have to buy the Vagcom? or will a garage do it for me? and do you know how to get the music done on the cd, using itunes?

Well that may not be true, TBH i dont know anyone with a colour MFD to try it on but on the white MFD you can change the instruments to 'Rest of world' (using VCDS) and this changes KPH to MPH and then you can increase the size of the digital speedo, so its quite possible that you can do the same on the Colour display, its equally possible that it wont let you either .
