Bonnet support arm

Is the support arm supposed to have a secure clip, or does it just rest on the two bits of plastic? Seems a bit loose if the latter (and how mine is) is the case.

That'd be me :)

My 52 plate corsa had a secure clip! I thought this one must have snapped but couldn't see signs of damage. Very peculiar.

I can't help wondering why they didn't fit some proper struts on the bonnet, my old 306 had em, and that was french!

Polo and Golf have been gas struts for years. Might be cost cutting but could be for front impact tests

It's a short but very heavy bonnet, mybe it's a leverage thing why they avoided gas struts.

Impact tests, the angle of the bonnet and piercing pedestrians are the reasons it is not fitted with struts.
