The inevitable Pirelli kerbing incident

I have no idea why it happens to me. My Leon FR used to have Pirelli P-Zeros on it and so does the Roc. Car drifted a little on an icy back road today and voila, lightly kerbed an alloy. Why oh why do they not have any rim protection? The tyres (continental) on my TT had rim protection, I also believe the dunlops on some other Roc's have rim protection. Now I have to get it refurbed, so inevitable with these tyres. It was just a matter of time I guess! :(

Gutted for you mate, kerbed my gti after just 3 weeks and I felt sick for days.

FWIW, I have heard good things about lepsons for refurbing your alloys.

Three weeks is how long I have had the roc for. Damn it!! Going to see who is around Manchester area. Sadly, Lepsons are hundreds of miles away from me!

I noticed the demonstrator I drove with Pirelli tyres already had scuffed alloys. It really is a pity they don`t put rimmed tyres on as the alloys are so vulnerable!!!

I'm pretty certain the pirellis have a bit of rim protection but no tyre can fully protect against a slide into something. I wouldn't feel to bad about kerbing an alloy, it's a car and things are going to get marked at the end of the day!!!

True, true. I am going to wait and bit. See if it happens again (yet I am so careful!) and then get it done. Take a pic and stick up here later :)
