Alloy scuff repair companies (NW)?
BOTH front alloys are now scuffed

First was trying to dodge a car crashing into me! and second was last night when I drove too close to a kerb to reach the number pad to type in a code to get out of a hotel carpark

Am gutted!
Have googled but not sure who is any good! I don't want to give my car to any old company!
Thanks

Hi LadyRocR
Try these, they get good testamonials and are nationwide, I think they've a centre in Manchester

I've used them and they are excellent.

Thanks Jeff!
I did an automated quote and it came back at £180 for both front wheels! I have no idea what the finish of the wheels means so left it as TW Sport 1 (i think). Is that expensive for just toughing up 2 scuffs? Seems it to me but then I have no idea how much anything costs!
Thanks

If you are prepared to travel to him over the Pennines, this guy is good.
Link
Only works local to South Yorkshire base.
He's need about 6 hours for the two wheels. The last I know of a cost it was about £120.

No idea what a smart repair is sorry! All I know is that my scuffed wheels will be taken off, repaired, baked at some point ( I don;t know the whole process but baking in a mobile oven was mentioned) and the wheels out back on and balanced etc :-)

Keep away from those kerbs or you'll be keeping the repairer busy. I got a small dent on my rear wheel arch by a kind lorry driver...estimate is £900, so it could be worse.

LadyRocR can you post some before and after pics for us so we can see what the damage was like and how good the repair is?
If you could find out if it is a 'smart repair' or whatever the technique is called then it could be useful if anybody else has the same problem?

Oh Sorry! All done and dusted before I saw this post! All I can say is that one wheel was deeply scuffed around about 1/4 of the wheel and the other less - probably about 1/8 and less deep. Very tatty scuffs with lots of sharp edges on both.
Both wheels are now absolutely perfect. I have examined them very closely and I am really really pleased with the result! Car is back to showroom condition and got a full valet from the VW garage too (for free)
Love (a much happier)
