So has anyone managed to get a discount on buying a new car in the last month or so?
Autoebid is stating an expected discount of over four figures after their fees so that is a good discount. Anyone managed to get discount/added value in the showroom?

I remember somebody mentioning that VW are increasing the value of their cars by 5%, due to the weakness of the pound and the price of steel going up, dont hold me to that though.
I got my car October 1st and managed £1,500 off but that was playing about with finance and my part ex

VW prices are going up by 5%....
But I managed to get 5% of the old price - approx a £1250 discount. I feel you could get better if you really tried.
I dont want the car before may so my dealer is going to wait till the last possible minute before ordereing.. So I probably have probably saved 10%.
That was for no part exchange on a factory ordered car.

I got a £2000 discount on the tdi I ordered last weekend. I was pretty chuffed with this. Worked out at around 8% discount. I just found the best broker price I could and went in armed with that. I said if they could match it I would buy. They were doubtful at first but after a few days matched it no probs.

Broadspeed and Broker4cars are doing nice discounts of between £1500 - £2000 depending upon the car and spec you go for. Got mine through broadspeed and saved just under £2000 on the list price.

I used AutoEbid and offered my local dealer the option of matching their price in return for an order. After a few days worth of haggling I ended up with an 8% discount on mine.

I have just gone through my paperwork again and worked out that the dealer is giving me 5% off list price, which is not too bad I guess, about £1,100. Mind you the P/X value they have given me is rock bottom and they have suggested I sell privately.

Sorry to bust your bubbles, but I bought it with 13,3% discount. I dunno if the marginals are abit different from the UK. But that's my numbers anyways.
