Dynaudio worth the upgrade?

I'm really playing devil's advocate really as I've already ordered my Roc with the standard radio/dvd. I've only really had one good system in a car, a Bose system in my Mazda 6. The standard system in my current Volvo V50 is dreadful.
Anyway, here's my reasons for not ordering the Dynaudio. Can you really tell the difference in quality, not just loudness? Road noise, wind noise, engine noise, these will surely interfere with your enjoyment of the music. Driving or passenger you not in the best position to get the correct sound field. If I wanted to spend that kind of money I would rather spend it at home to get the best of the system.
Don't get me wrong I'm not a cheapskate, I've spent an awful lot of money over the years on high quality hi-fi and surround sound systems, however even then people will say I'm not spending eough!! So is it worth it. Go on convince me.
When I'm driving down the road in the summer (I don't known what summer

), with the windows open will people point and say
Look at that old fart driving a Rocco listening to Mumford and Sons................what a waste.

Personally i think it is yes... it's not the most amazing system ever, but it's very good for the money.
You could fit aftermarket stuff but unless you know what you're doing you'll have to pay someone else to do it etc.... the rear speakers are a bitch to get at blah blah
For the money it's worth it, if you want mega volume or are a bass fiend look elsewhere

And if you do get the Dynaudio, how could you improve the bass? Any suggestions please

.

I'd suggest you try it first... it might be fine.
As for improving that depends a lot on budget and end desire. You could stick a sub under the seats which is the simplest way and requires minimal technical ability (Focal do some excellent ones for around £200), or you could get a sub built into the spare wheel well and add an amp for it too... see the links above as someone has done a cracking aftermarket system.

I spend upto 40,000 miles a year in my car so i ordered the Dynaudio setup as i listen to alot of music and podcasts. I have a great setup at home but it hardly gets used these days so the money on the Dynaudio was money well spent. It's as good as the Bose setup i had in my last Audi A3 its got a clean clear sound with plenty on Bass. I've been down the after market route before Alpine head units subs and amps etc but those days are behind me. So as upgraded factory setups go i highly recomend it.

Can't have a sub in the boot. My little girl will be sitting in there and she may not like it.

I have it and I'd recommend it. No matter how small it may be, it's also something extra for selling the thing later on in life. You'll enjoy it now and in future someone else will after you've showed it them

I have one and wouldn't be nuts about it to be honest. It must be far better than the standard kit so I suppose that's something.....i'd opt for it tho....hope that helps.

I do not think it is worth it, but then I am a little bit deaf, and also ( when it comes to singing) completely tone deaf so would not really notice the difference....
