Pen jammed in AC Fan :O

Hey guys just to let you know somehow a ballpoint pen got sucked up? by the AC system and busted my AC fan..
I have to go to a lesson now but when I'm back I'll upload pics of the broken fan unit. I have to wait 3 weeks for a replacement part. Still confused on how a PEN could entre the AC syste,

My moneys on the holder in the glovebox where the user manual usually goes (at the top of the glovebox). There have been a number of reported cases of items like pens slipping down this hole and jamming up the works on MK5/6 Golfs and Jettas, and now it would seem Scirocco's. VW even do a blanking piece for the backside of the glovebox that seals this hole.
Never stick anything other than the user manual in that slot.

Found this over on the Italian forums, which shows the holes and how to cover them.
Obviously it's in Italian, but go through google translate and it pretty much makes sense.
