Windows when you unlock the doors??

I've had a quick look in my manual but I can't find anything to suggest this is the case.

The other day we had a rare bit of sunshine, probably the first since I got the car back in Dec. I don't know if it is just conincidence, but when I unlocked the car, both windows opened about half way, as if it was an automatic way to cool the car down before you get in it. Now the sun has gone again, and it hasn't happened since. So I was wondering if the light sensor somehow tells the car to open the windows further when its warmer?

Or do I need to get it in the garage because my car now has a mind of its own??? :p

did you hold your finger on the unlock button as this will start the windows to come down, when you release the windows stop ?!

I never noticed if I did, but I guess that could be the case.

Will see if that what it is thanks..

As above, its either a fault or you kept your finger on the open button (which rolls the windows down when pressed in for a period of time)

I've always wondered if one touch could be configured via VAGCOM so you don't have to hold the button down?

ive been thinking about the way the windows drop when you unlock the car to break the seal to allow you to open the door.. (correct me if im wrong..)

when its been winter and iv had ice snow on my window on my current renault megane obviousy the windows cant open because of the freezing..

what happens when you try to open a scirocco in these circumstances would you have to clean away the ice ect to be able to unlock the car? just its going to be a pain in the arse having to clean both windows if there was just me getting in the car.. lol

any one have troule with this?

Pickle in the MFD you can change the doors to open only the drivers side and then press again for passenger, as for ice this has been covered quite a few times elsewhere, if the rubber seals have iced then you will need to deice them, I have never had a problem with the boot so keep a can of deicer in there for winter a quick spray and your in, note if the window doesn't drop properly you have to reset it by using 'one click'

Being a tad too lasy to go out in the cold and read the manual, but how do you get the Windows to open and close with the key. I have tried in the past but it didn't work. Is there a setting under convenience?

do you mean to go all the way up/down? - press & hold the unlock/lock button as applicable on the key

As Trix says use the applicable key & there is also an option on the MFD to choose drivers window only or both  although that is based on the MY10.5 White highline

Cheers guys. Umm, need to check that then. In the past, I have tried holding down the buttons on the fob before but it didnt work (i have the white highline). I thought it was odd it didnt work, as it did on my previous lower spec Astra.

I will look into it tonight.

Sorted it. You need to select the window opening in the MFD. All works nicely now:)
