I have never seen an R

It may seem strange but I have never seen an R, they must be very rare.

Also, my local Dealers are saying that they are so hard to get hold of, even new ones, they are suggesting buying a GT and getting it remapped, so much for warranty invalidation.

Anyone else heard of this?

There is quite a long waiting list for them, there is also the fact that they are quite expensive too, I have only ever seen one on the road and that's mine :-)

They didnt exist when i got my Roc but have only seen 1 on the road. So instead got a fully tripped out GT and had it mapped, lowered etc and love it.

I only saw my first one a couple of weeks ago when I met Chungster. I've never seen one on the road though.

I haven't heard of dealers recommending remap, apart from one dealer cant recall the name, but theyre into tuning Rocs, anyhow the R is more than just a remap...as discussed plenty before.

There were a few R's appearing on the VW stock which you might be able to look at but you'll probably long for it so think before you go.

I had a GT and was a really nice car, certainly more comfortable than the R on 19"s as I seem to get back ache after a while, which never happened in the GT, and we drove to Italy in that!

I saw my first three on Monday, at Motorline in Tunbridge Wells. One of them is mine and I will be running it in on Kent and Sussex's finest clogged arteries from Friday onwards.

If anyone's interested, there's a candy white R in Lookers South London. saw it from the road, so dont know what spec etc. looks like 19s but cant be sure.

nice though.

there'll be one very special R pounding the roads of hampshire, surrey and berkshire in the near future :D

I see at least 2 Golf R's a day, but has been as many as 6 different ones in one day.

Scirocco's are rare, i used to see just one other occasionally, not seen it for a while, but do know there are 5/6 owned locally.

I've only seen 4 Golf Rs - Millteks White one, a Blue one local dealer was running, and from memory a silver one at sainsburys. Oh and the £40k Grey one next to me at GTI Inters last year.

They are very rare as I was not aware VW supplied Roccos in DBP, I thought they were all RB

DBP = Deep Black Pearl ;)

But RB is the fastest colour so naturally more common.

My R32 is DBP - Deep Blue pearl so it never even crossed my mind it was Black.

Don't know about being the fastest, but RB is certainly the best colour for a Rocco IMO
