How did you get you Roc

I had my weekly discussion with my dealer as to when my Roc wil arrive and we got to talking about delivery (don't get excited I am none the wiser , still 'on target' for March).
However the dealer has offered (in away of keeping me happy) is to trailer the Car to my house (when it arrives) rather than me picking it up or it being driven (delaer is about 50 miles away) , I quite like the idea of photoing it rolling off the back of the trailer on the great day , so in the interest of general discussion how did you get yours and was it all you'd hoped it would be

The downside to the trailer thing is that the car will be sat outside your house, and if you find any defects you will be torn with accepting the car then arranging to take it back in at another date, or rejecting it. The other thing is that if it is raining, you may struggle to notice any marks, dents scratches etc...on the body work when chekcing it over.
Ask them to pick you up instead, and drive you to the dealers to collect your car. Best of both worlds then.

Picked mine up from the dealer. Nothing like going into a dealer and seeing your lovely new car and driving it off the forecourt while other customers are looking at 2nd hand polo's

Picked mine up too - total lack of any ceremony from the dealer, but that suited me. I enjoyed driving it home and then just sitting in it for an hour playing with all the settings and so on and learning how it works.
I've picked up a Golf, a MINI and Porsche before now, and MINI/BMW did it best...

As everyone has said pick it up from the dealer in case there are any issues. On collection we noticed the number plates had an E where a C should have been due to the admin lady's elaborate handwriting. New plates were made and fitted whilst we completed the paperwork, so no problem and we could still drive the car away. If it had arrived on a trailer we would have been snookered.

Picked up from dealer.
As above, there's just something about rolling off a forecourt with YOUR NEW CAR. I spent ages reading up, looking at multiple cars, so when I got there, sorted it all out and he gave me the keys... it's like getting a new pet! lol. The stares driving away and back home (as the car was shiny as hell!) was funny. Some man-dems on the motorway doing "SIKKKKK" signs and an upset salesman who wanted to buy it himself and talked at length with me about his life and what's going wrong with it (honest! lol).
Defo go to dealer mate. Please!

Picked it up from the dealer along with the ten or so other excited buyers. It was like the waiting room of a paternity ward.
The dealer did make me open up the boot to reveal a bottle of red wine stashed there as a thank you. I thought encouraging drink driving off the bat was a little bit strange but their heart was in roughly the right place.

I'm going to pick mine up from the dealers (hopefully in the first week of May) as they are only seven miles alway. They will give my better half a lovely bunch of flowers. Wonder if they'll fill it with motion lotion?

I picked my Golf GTI up from the dealer, unfortunately the sales guy i had dealt with was on holiday at the time so instead of a nice handover from him, i got some random bird do it. Wasn't very impressed as she wasn't really bothered as i was clearly not her customer and the car wasn't ready when i arrived, wasn't sitting in the showroom as i expected.
All in all, a bit shit. not expecting a brass band, but she knew nothing about my car and didn't really care about me, although she was fit so swings and rounabouts i spose

. when i pick my R up, i will def make sure it coincides with my sales guy doing the handover, at least he's a good lad who seems to know the score!

I'm picking mine up tomorrow
I was supposed to get it on Saturday, but the computer network wasn't working so they couldn't tax it
They did promise me a full tank of fuel when I collect it tomorrow, as a way of apology for messing me about, but I very rarely believe anything a salesman tells me these days. I'll just have to wait and see....

I got mine in September 2009. It's on lease but when I phoned they said they had one in stock if I didn't mind not being able to select options. Turned out to be exactly what I wanted anyway although thats not what I told them so I could get a better price. It was delivered 3 weeks later on the back of a truck to my home address. I had to do an inspection and get a quick lesson in basic stuff before I signed off on it.
